I wouldnt necessarily laugh. The article makes 2 great points: 1) Being that exhaust pipes are entirely too close together to be the stock exhaust (and they are surrounded by some sort of blocks). 2) That the wheels do seem to small for the car, meaning that it could be a totally different frame underneath those panels.
The article never said that was C7, but said it was a test mule. Which means the body could be a C6 exterior.. with the frame & internals being totally different and testing for the C7. There was recently the same sort of test mule being done with the Dodge Viper. Where the exact same 2010 Viper bodystyle was being driven with a totally new suspension system & tranmission.
Maybe GM has nothing to show and intentionally confuses the public by fitting rims that are too narrow for the car and different muffler?
If the platform is indeed of the C7 over the current body, this means nothing either because this is what the base would look like if you fit the wide body panels on it without changing the rims... Typical BS from GM.
LOL at Ferrari like sound, exhaust or motor? OHC motor like in recycling old ZR1 32-valver?

Sounds about right, and in line with the development of previous generations.
