While it is entirely likely that it is a mule for some test system to reach the conclusion that it is for the C7 is entertaining at best and outrageous at worst. It is a photo of a Grand Sport with different smaller wheels and a different exhaust. Hell, it could be a proto-type exhaust that they had laying around from when they were developing the NPP that was rejected at the time. These stories crack me up.

I think SLP was using the actual vette calipers and retrofit is not hard at all on Fbodies, including the vette rims.

There's no reason they'd have the GS body on it if that were the case. The tires on that car are base-coupe sized. If that were truly the C7 mule they'd have used a narrow body C6 body.

conclusion? yah, that would be outrageous... speculation? ummm, seems ok to me. The timing is right, there is def something being developed/tested, seems reasonable that a C7 mule would ride on a C6 setup...

an old NPP exhaust? lol... why? well, if the wheels weren't offset I'd say could be, but with the whole picture being what it is, I wouldn't say it's not that outrageuos to "speculate" that this could be a C7 mule...

why? just for the "fit and finish"? I don't think that is important on a test mule... I would think a wider GS would provide extra clearance to test out the new suspension geometry...

There's no telling what's under the body or what may be new with the C7 but assuming the photo was taken on a GM test track I've no doubt this was a test mule (but probably not the first).

CCW often does contract work for GM. I've had an order for CCW wheels delayed while they filled a large order for their preferred customer.
