Hit the rev limiter!
Was hitting the gas hard in first gear and lost traction and hit the rev limiter, shifted to second and it took off again, pretty funny sound though, sounded like the car was farting! lol....Anyway pretty cool system and it surely saved my motor from broken parts. Way to go GM

Yep, the motor stutters at the rev limiter. It is a good safety system to have in place. Just remember that it won't save you if you mechanically over rev the motor by shifting into too low of a gear for your speed.

Several years ago I was with some friends at the drag strip. Most of them (and me) were not very experienced on the track. One guy kept hitting his rev limiter. He had a sense of humor about it though. He started referring to is as his "shift indicator".

My 21 year old son was with me, both windows were down, sounded cool at wot. I told him, do as I say not as I do! Fat chance of that happening....Pretty cool kid, he likes American products and understands trying to support our country!

Me too.....Major Facepalm
Just once though and I blame it on the paddles. At the time I didn't realize it would take it so long to shift. Now I know and per G.I. Joe that is half the battle.......
And it never fails. Things like like never happen when you are alone or out in the boonies. There is always someone around or in the passengers seat .......

That sounds like the old saying about the perfect torque "Strip it and back off a quarter of a turn...."

My race cars used to have two steps in them, you would sit at the tree at 6000 RPM for what seemed like eternity as the car went DAT DAT DAT DAT DAT DAT DAT DAT until you let go of the trans brake button then it was BOOM, front wheels 3 feet up in the air and hope you come down straight!!
