Looking for help from anyone out there who purchased and installed the SIC MS Z06 front bumper. I had mine done a few months back and I was wondering if anyone is having the same problem with theirs that I'm having with mine. I had the body shop install the wire mesh grill instead of the stock Z06 grill that was an option at the time of purchase and it seems that it doesn't provide any support for the bumper. It has begun to sag in the middle and the bottom of the mesh is showing. I've asked Daniel from SIC for some help but I haven't heard anything. I think he has been sick and has been offline for awhile. It is possible that the body shop did a poor job and possibly could have missed a piece which may have provided that support but the only way to verify that is to take the bumper off and check. If I go that far I want to have a plan if it looks like all of the parts are installed so I was going to purchase a stock Z06 grill which would provide the required support but before doing so I just wanted to see if anyone else was having similar issues. Thanks in advance for any input.
What a shame that someone who seemed to be a stand up guy has ripped peope off and then just dissapeared. I almost bought a bumper from him a decided against it last minute. Good luck with your issues.
Reuben, I have the SIC bumper on my car and everything is fine. The trick is getting a good body shop that knows what they are doing.
I do have the stock OEM Z06 mesh grill (although Racemesh stainless is added) so that probably does help in holding everything together.
They're is a lower panel with fingers that definitely has to be used to help support the bottom of the bumper.
Also, I would bet that the body shop didn't put screws ALL around the lower grill opening as they should have if the bottom part of the bumper is sagging exposing the bottom of the grill mesh itself.

I don't think Daniel at SIC is trying to rip anyone off. I have bought a lot from him over the years and never had a problem. I also heard he has been ill. We don't know how ill and I think we should not jump to ripoff conclusions till we know the facts or hear from him. Just my 2 cents worth....VNVETT

I personally have bought several items from him and never had a problem with him or his products.

Just in case anyone got the wrong impression from my post; I'm not saying that Daniel ripped me off, only that I asked him for his help and he hasn't responded (probably because he has been ill).

Saw your car for the first time in the SIC post for their bumper and loved it. Still do. Your car looks really good. I know about the bottom support bracket (fingers) because I read about it on this forum and I made it a point to bring it to the body shops attention. I sincerely hope that they didn't forget to put that on. On the other hand I'm inclined to agree with your theory that they probably didn't put screws all the way around the mesh to hold it in place. Looks like the only way to know for sure is to take it apart.
As per some previous posts, he openly admitted via email that they changed some things for the bumper and that a lot of them were defective. He also garunteed another forum member a replacement and six months later still hasn't sent one. He also hasn't been responding to anyone's emails or calls regarding the issues of his products. If a vendor doesn't stand by his products that sounds like a rip off to me. Again I personally haven't done any business with him so I can't say 1st hand I'm just going by what I've read in the past couple of weeks. It bothers me to see other forum member spending their hard earned money and then not getting what they paid for.
Maybe if Daniel would chime in that would quiet some of this down but he hasn't and continues not to. Oh and Btw he is no longer I'll as per an email that was posted between himself and another forum member.

No, problem.
Yes, I read that thread and I know that SIC Motorsports is no longer a supporting vendor here.
All I was stating is that I have bought from, and talked to Daniel several times, and he was always a stand up guy with me. He even sent me the OEM grills after the fact.
Maybe he has something going on right now, I have no idea.
I do believe that some problems have been caused by the installers of his bumpers not putting in the extra effort if takes sometimes for aftermarket parts. Most aftermarket parts are not going to be as good as OEM and could take a little extra care to make sure everything is right. I will say that the shop that installed my bumper and hood said that they were very good for aftermarket parts.
I'm not saying that another member(s) does not have a beef with him. I cannot know for sure what has gone on between them.
I was just putting my experience out there for balance.
I have also had no problems, although I spent a lot of time personally fitting the bumper. As an aftermarket piece I think it is of very good quality and fit, but you have to uinderstand that aftermarket pieces will rarely match OEM in terms of fit. After making some adjustments and fitting it myself, I had it painted and it turned out great. I also have the OEM Z06 grill and made sure to use and properly fit it. This helped a lot with making it more sturdy...

Sorry - the grill does not show up in the pic very well at all - but it looks just like Randy's 1FUNRIDE...
