My wife just called. The Vette will not start. She said it just shows a padlock on the dash and clicks inside the car. I tried to explain where the glove box fob holder is, but that's not going too well. I never really looked for it. Does anyone have a picture of the fob holder so I can explain where to put it? Thanks.
A buddy of mine and me were at a 7-11 and came out and neither of us could start our cars, odd coincidence huh? Especially when I have never had an issue with the fob, with zero signs of the battery being low. Our fobs are different, mine a 06 his the newer style 08. My car started using the glovebox trick, but his would not. He put his cellphone out of the car and it started up NP. We had heard of interference with cell phones if you keep the key and phone in the same pocket. Just something to think about in case the glove box trick fails.
She's got it running. Thanks guys, I knew I could count on you. Now to get a new battery in that sucka!
Yup I changed mine right before they were about to give out. It let me back in one last time and by the time I got home crapped out. Happy shes back on the road.

This has happened to me a few times too. Smart phones & fobs don't mix.
It could be worse...I remember one guy's wife couldn't get the car to start and she was locked in the car. Neither knew about the emergency (manual) door release. I'm glad you wife got the car going.
