Who uses their corvette as their daily driver?
I purchased mine last year with the intentions of doing that, but the more I think about it, I'm up in the air about purchasing another car as a daily driver and keeping the corvette as my weekend toy

I drive mine everywhere. I have hauled concrete blocks and cement in it. After 4 years it still looks almost new. IT'S A CAR!!! And it gets better mileage than many of the "economy" cars people buy to save money on gas. If I need to carry something too large like 4x8 sheets of plywood I rent a U-Haul truck or get it delivered. But with 21 cu. ft. of storage in the back you would be amazed at what you can carry.

I have an A6 Z51. Stop and go traffic is no worse than any other auto and the harshness of the ride of Z51 (or GS) is vastly exaggerated. I have no problem driving 850 miles straight with 2 hours of that on 2 lane highways.

Now I won't take it to Illinois in the middle of winter. For those trips I rent a Hertz. But you should have no weather problems that would prevent you from driving it in Georgia.

I drove mine everyday for 10 years ('88 coupe, '02 vert, '08 coupe). I traded the '08 recently but I will be purchasing another vette by next summer. I plan on driving the new vette only when I want to (I have two other vehicles) but as I have seen in the past, I ALWAYS want to drive it.

Drive it an enjoy it.

I use mine as a daily driver and in the event of severe weather, I rent a car. After comparing the cost of buying a nice car and paying insurance as opposed to renting a new car when needed and not needing additional insurance, the cost of renting came out way ahead.
In fact, I am renting a Lincoln MKS this weekend during the east coast hurricane while my vette sits in my friends garage.

Cool, thanks for all the input so far. I also have a 2007 Dodge Charger that I have given to my wife to drive around in. She's thinking about getting another car soon, and I was/am up in the air about keeping the Charger as a daily driver or just sell it.

I drive my Z every time I can. I bought it to enjoy, and not look at.

Is it going to get a rock chip, a door ding, etc?? Hell yeah it is, but its only a car....

Mine's a DD. Have a 2007 Mazda 3 for errands and hauling my dogs around. The Vette even makes driving to work fun.

I drive mine daily. It will stay in the garage when there is snow and ice but that doesn't happen often here in central NC!

I have an 08 that I bought new and have 78,000 miles on it. I drive it all the time!! I could have the most expensive car in the world and I'd still drive it all the time. I'd feel like I wasted my money on the thing if I didn't drive it.

Here in the WDC area I drive mine daily except when there is more than 3-4 inches of snow (and that is very infrequent). 60K+ so far since August 2005. Drive it like you stole it! What a car! What a country! See you in Carlisle tomorrow?

I got a black 08 and its my daily driver.(40K miles) I love this car. I remember back in 1998 I bought a red 99 and I "saved" that car in the garage..LOL Big mistake because the guy who bought it after me after I traded it in for my C5 Z06 got a brand new car..

Screw that thing about saving the car ...blah..blah...blah..

Never ever ever....let the things you own ...own you...

Just enjoy the car because down the road when you look back...its not even the car that you remember...its the journey of life, the experiences that counts most...

Have fun...I totally understand where your coming from and I'm just giving some friendly advice...

USE IT...its a GREAT CAR...(but its still just a car) GM builds them to plow through 3 foot walls of snow..(not that I recommend that but they really do have a test to do that as stated in the book...All Corvettes are RED)

with black...I do have to wash and wax the car every week....I got it down to 12 minutes flat with wash, swipe and wipe meathod of using the california water blade..making sure the blade is clean with every swipe and then just using wax as you dry from eagle one..
Then once every few months I do a really nice polish and wax with many of the recommended products from this great site..

My vette still looks brand new...(snow/rain/and sunny day usage) Once a year I hit it with a high speed polisher...I just don't drive the vette the day of the snow storms...but the day after when the roads are plowed ...no problem and the paint still looks great.. No problems.. GM builds these cars to drive everyday and they take appropriate steps to rustproofing...etc..I do as I mentioned wash it once a week and do spray under the car as well..

I have 6 vehicles registered and running right now.
I take the vette when I want to feel / look good. Take the Silverado
Texas Edition when I am gonna park near the idiots or carry things.
That truck is actually more comfy than the vette. Take the Speed Triple
when I want to be wheelie wheelie rowdy. Take the Hot Rod when......
well you guys get the idea. I spread the wealth on building mileage.
plus some days I don't even leave the house cause that's where I work.

Been driving vettes daily since 2004. 2k, 05,06,07 and 85.

My 07 has been great, no problems at all and still looks new. My wife's 07 Mazda is a different story. Lots of problems and the front end looks like it was shot with a shotgun. She has 89k to my 74k, but I don't even have a single chip in the front fascia (mirrors yes )
