I drove my Z51 2008 every day, even in winter. Loved it, couldn't understand why people would choose to drive a second car when they have a Vette... I swore I would do the same with my 2010 GS, but, as you, I'm finding myself sort of leaning towards using the car on nice days only. I don't really want to baby the car, but I want to avoid getting tires, brakes or major service as long as I can. I just hate the idea of having the rocker panels screwed up, or the rims scratched up by the service garage/dealer. Anyway, mine so far is a 3 days per week car, and probably won't see winter use....

If you aren't going to drive it then why have it? Something will always come up on a weekend or the weather will be crappy or there'll be that game on tv. If you don't enjoy it now, you won't. I drove my coupe almost every day 150 miles round trip to work for 2.5 years. Then I retired so it doesn't see the miles it used to. But, it goes EVERYWHERE. Walmart, doctor, bank, cleaners, restaurants. I treat it like gold and it still looks great for an '08 with 65K.

The car was meant to be driven.

Daily driver here to. Purchased 2010 Coupe on Dec 7, 2010. Today I have 11,200 miles. 99% highway mailes. North of L.A. I can put all travel bags in her, full blown supermarket shopping, and of course all my party goods. I had three vehicles. Now just my Vette. The weather here is prime 365 days a year. Sunny Southern California.

13K on my DD 2011 GS. I actually bought the Vette specifically for the work commute....I drive the kid hauler mini-van and/or the bigger full-size van conversion on the weekend with the family.

When I first set my sights on the Vette, my wife shared her thoughts that it was impractical (I've got elementary school aged kids). So I surveyed my driving habits for a month....95% of the time I was alone in my mini-van....we typically took her bigger full sized van for the family driving.

In addition to being a great daily driver car (especially here in Southern California), the Vette is also great "unwind from work" therapy. Doesn't matter how tough work is, by the time I get home, the Vette has done it's job in melting the stress away!

If you are the kind of person that doesn't mind rock chips on your hood or scratches on your door, then drive it everyday and everywhere. Don't get me wrong, garage queens also get chips and scratches, just not as many in a short period of time.

Mine is a fair weather car. I bought it for THAT purpose since I have other cars to drive in the winter and bad summer days.

If you will get **** about chips and scratches then keep the charger, if not, then drive your Vette daily.

Bottom line, Its YOUR car and do whatever you want with it.

My '08 is my 6th 'Vette. First 5 went over 100K miles each. Don't plan on getting another one until the '08 goes over the 100K marker

Definitely just bought my C5 about a month ago as a daily driver. I was driving a beat up old '90 Accord for years as a DD (shown in the background of the 1st pic), swore that I would buy myself a nice, quick car for my next normal driver and the C5 won (not that I haven't ALWAYS been a vette guy, I owned a '76 C3 for awhile, but sold it due to the amount of work it needed and the UTTER lack of performance out of the 350 for that year) and I was carried in and brought home from the hospital after being born in a yellow '63 split window. That was my mom's DD back in the late 70's, early 80's! Dad drove a '65. My '98 had '77K on it when I bought it and it now has over 80K. Like the old Honda, I'll drive it till it quits. (And the Honda DID quit.... finally dropped a valve in the #3 and #4 cylinders while on the interstate. The thing actually made it 160 more miles to home on two cylinders! Unbelieveable!) I plan on buying a stock set of the "wagon wheel" wheels cheap for it for a set of snow tires and off I go in the winter.

Weekend Toy

Spark Plugs out of the old Honda, if anyone cares....

I'll go ahead and take the abuse...so here goes.
I never bought nor intended my Z06 to be a dd. It is my weekend toy. I'm not **** about anything, I do take it on long vacation trips and don't worry about this or that. I simply enjoy the fact that I very much look forward to simply driving it in on the weekends.
I just replaced my G35 Coupe as my driver with a brand new CTS Coupe from Cadillac. I enjoy using that as my dd.
Okay..I'm ready, go ahead and kick my azz over my post.

I currently DD my '11. In 3.5 months I've put 6k miles on it and I am actually looking for a commuter to offload some of the miles and rock chips.

Bought an 05 GTO to daily drive. C6 is strictly a weekend car now, makes the limited time I am driving it that much more enjoyable

I think the C6 is waaay too fun to NOT drive it everyday. I just wish I lived further from work. 0.9 miles is not far enough

EDIT: Oh yeah, when it snows I walk to work...heh

Drive mine daily since 2001 when I bought my first vette (98 coupe totalled with 130,000 miles and 2011 GS Coupe with 3,000 miles).
