Hey i just wonder ifsomeone could help me out finding VIN# conected to a Engine# the engine is a LS3 2008 modell i was told,
the seller promissed me a carfax after i bought the engine, but in the end everything was just a internetscam, but i did recover the engne in the end, so i was hoping someone could inform me howe to find VIN# when i do have engine#
the number found on the engine was on valve head front righthand side and back lefthand side 8199P1470879
i also found a #2139P1 and on a sticker down front lefthand side 10Z AJ K082251020 it would be really nice to have the history of the car the engine was taken out from
The VIN stamp is on top of the block behind the driver's side valve cover.
The vehicle identification number (VIN) is located on the left side rear of the engine block (1) and is typically a nine digit number stamped or laser-etched onto the engine at the vehicle assembly plant.
If you pull off the fuel rail cover you should be able to get in there with a utility mirror and find the VIN stamp.

None of those numbers look anything like a late model Corvette engine number stamp.
This is what a Corvette number looks like, it's from an '09 so an alleged '08 would be basically similar.

The second digit would be a "8' instead of your "9" and the third digit, the "5" means the car was built in Bowling green. If the third digit is anything other then a "5", the engine is not from a Corvette.

If you could stand over the engine with your feet at the back of the motor and with the front facing away from you and look down, it should be under where the fuel rail covers the furthest part back on the cylinder head on the drivers side. It is on top of the flattest surface with a slight angle to the left.
it looks like i found the number that is mention in this Forum
the number found on engine block is 195105400
so now it is just to find the rest of VIN #
isnt it so that the first numbers and letters is all the same, and last 6 # is telling the specific Vehicle, if so i could just find a 2009 modell and just change the last 6 didges?? or is that just to easy

I don't understand what you are now wanting to do. You found out the engine is indeed from a Corvette and is from a 2009 Corvette. Isn't that the info you wanted?

The reason i wanted to find the VIN# is that when i did bougth this engine on Ebay i was victime of fraud, after i bougth the engine i never did hear anything more from the seller, i had to file a report and take this scammer to Court in Albany County NY, it turned out that this guy had scamemd hundreds of people for 100 of tousends of dollar, in USA and internationally, so even he said this engine was a LS3 with 3 miles on it i had no reason to trust his word, this is the reason why i wanted to find the conected VIN# so i could get a Carfax on the engine,
2 times i have been to the US to trye to get the engine including the time i was in court,
so this Engine do have some History,
i called our Lokal GM dealer in Norway and he needed the last 8 didgits on the engine to make a complete VIN# it turned out to be this VIN#1G1YY36W095105400 and it was yes a 2009 modell Convertible with 0 miles on it, so i got the complete specifications for the actuall car at GM and i got the info i wanted from CArfax thanks to everybody that helped out in this case to find this partial VIN#,
