Default IPhone interference

I know that an IPhone will interfere with the FOB which can result in the computer not recognizing it. The question I have is when turning the car off, is it possible that it will interfere enough so that the computer does not shut off and the result ends up being a drained battery?

If I put my IPhone next to my FOB, there are tines when my will not be detected. There are also times when I turn off the car and I get a message of RUN and something else, can't remember.

My iphone 4 blocks my fob if they're in the same pocket.

Simple solution. Don't put them in the same pocket.

Don't have an iPhone, but know certain cell phones and/or in car charging will mess with the FOB.

Road trip, this summer... In IL and stopped the car. Message came up, something like, FOB Not Dected. Off or Run. Anyway something like that. And I know!! I haven't looked it up in the manual!

So, stuck the FOB in the slot, and car started. Drove a while, stopped, same message. Did this a couple more times.

Near a dealer, so thought I would stop and have it checked. Made a call to a friend. My cell phone had been charging through the console outlet. The FOB was in my right pocket.

Before I got to the dealer, I disconnected the phone. When I got to the dealer, couldn't reproduce the problem. FOB worked great! Their Corvette tech and I finally figured it out...

FOB in right pocket, cell phone charging through console, NO FOB. Disconnect charger, no problem. Believe me, we tested it multiple times. Results were always the same. Charger in, no FOB. Charger out, no problem. Solution was to keep the FOB in LEFT pocket, or in storage bin on driver door when charging my cell phone.

Ain't makin' it up!!

Always have my iPhone when I drive the C6. Never had a problem. To answer your question, No, pushing the button will initiate a search for a FOB to decide whether the shutdown is done immediately or the shutdown must be confirmed if no FOB is found. In either case you are allowed to stop the engine. Once the engine stops the rest of the shutdown proceeds without need of looking for the FOB again. Ever since the 2005's had a problem with the DBS and the shutdown procedure was modified there is nothing that will drain the battery except having a weak battery to begin with.

I never had a problem with my iPhone interfering with my fob either. And I installed the GM PAL I got for Kawal. Works great, just not very loud. However that is another topic!!!

I have a iphone and i put the fob and phone right in the cup holder next to eachother with no issues at all. Guys with problems are your Iphone 's naked no covers/or plastic cases around them? The antenna is the metal frame around the whole phone the whole iphone reception problems were because of that, and apple sent out free covers to there customers to correct the reception issue.

But to answer the actual question, no...once you turn off the car, the i-phone will not make a problem. It may keep the fob from being recognized at startup or shutdown but once shut down, it will have no effect on the computer. In spite of many who have had no interference problems, cellphones causing problems with fobs is a known issue.
