new steering wheel

i want a new steering wheel who got best prices and qlty?
are they around $1500?

Check forum vendors. Also try Search. It is your friend. Check DSVettes and Apsis. They both do great wheels, and half the price you are talking. Not to exclude other great forum vendors, but the two that come to mind.

I just installed a 2012 steering wheel and air bag. Total shipped was $430 for both Steering wheel and air bag.

Probably a silly question from a pseudo-mechanic...is replacing a steering wheel something one can do themselves? No special tools? Concerns about air bags?

Question, I was looking at doing the same to my 05, will the existing bag not work? I will need to purchase the same setup I assume? Looks very nice!

Doesn't the '05 have the 'doughboy' steering wheel?

If it does, it's not as simple as just swapping steering wheels. You have to change out the clock spring as well.

Do a search, there are a few on here who have done it.

Took me under 30 min to swap out the airbag and steering wheel. See DIY below.

Yes, very easy to do. Just take your time and follow the steps in that thread.

Took me about 45 minutes and I was going slow.
