Temp transit permit

I have a new GS and need to drive it form NY to SC however the temp transit title has expired so is there anyway to get a new one. Anyone have a clue , tried dmv and lines are always clogged up!!

There is no re-issue of an in-transit permit in NYS. Would have to skate the laws to get one.

An official Bill Of Sale will get you through most states without a ticket although this only after you're stopped. I would suggest calling your state's office and get their suggestions.

Both our 2001 and 2006 were museum delivery, with a temp tag. Both times the tag was almost impossible to read from another car, like with a squad car looking you over. Both cars were soon taken on a multi-thousand mile vacation, and the the tag expired before we got home.
Our 2006 was from a dealer in NC, temp tag from there expired while we were on another long vacation.

Never got stopped with any of them, so the odds are in your favor.

just know that every state is different. from what the NYS respondent said, it appears you're out of luck.

in my state, you can buy a temp tag for in-transit for 10 bucks. once I bought 3 just in case I needed more than 3 days. next time I was there, they said you can only buy 1. so some places don't even know what their real policy is.

NY State doesn't issue temp tags. Your profile shows you are from SC so maybe you could get one in SC and take it with you to get the car.

looks like im gonna give it a go, if i do get stopped considering im not stopped for speeding will they impound the car?
I called `SC dmv and they said they need the car there so odds are ill drive at NIGHT lol !!
