Only thing is, is you need the center console with the precut hole and believe it or not there is a special bracket which is used to secure the switch in place and screw it down.
Doh, there is a bracket? It looked like it clips right in.

I just got my radio bezel and switch earlier today.

I see why the one I have looks like it clips right in...

because its a different switch!

I got the 2010+ ZR1 switch which is different from your model.

Ugh, I wonder if it'll work? Any ideas?

The 12 connector looks the same on the bottom, but I noticed the switch 'centers' itself after a selection and doesn't stay on Tour or Sport. You can see in the picture that the 'Tour' illuminated/selected, but the selection LED is 'centered'.

I have a feeling this won't work, but we will be testing with a multimeter tomorrow.

I'm preparing to do this mod on Friday and have a couple questions. For starters, I am wiring inept, so please bear with me... I have a switch in place that controls my exhaust, it does not light up. It only has 2 wirings running to/from it, a black one and a red one. I realize I will have to splice into the traction control for illumination, will I need anything else?

I assume that 'Tour' will allow the loop to complete, allowing the exhaust to function as stock, and that 'Sport' will block the loop, leaving the flaps open, and that the light will come from the wire that is spliced into the TC button. Is that correct?

Having only the two wires now, which pins should I attach them to? Thank you in advance.

You have it correct. Wire it just how I have it shown in my pictures. Mine is a little ameturish and "hacked" together because I wanted to wire it then and there and didnt want to wait another week to get a pin connector, but its working really nicely for the last 4 months. I had a diagram drawn up but I lost it. The green wire in my pic is the illumination wire, the black is the ground and the two red wires are the tour and sport wires. Green leads to the traction control wires, black to a screw somewhere, and the reds go to the exhaust fuse. I forget which one goes in which spade hole but play around with it and youll get it...

Glad this has been of use to others. I recently redid my switch with a new one. Works like a charm! Had to redo it after the performance shop broke it lol

Can anyone confirm whether or not I need the mild to wild switch to get the f55 switch to work? I actually bought cww17's console with his modified f55 switch and I want to control the exhaust flaps with the switch

The F55 switch IS the mild to wild switch. It takes it's place. The M2W is just a glorified switch wirelessly activated nothing special about it.

If anyone want to do this mod I have another F55 switch for sale. $30 shipped. Its the one in the pictures above.

Thanks! So it's just a matter of wiring the switch to make it work?

This mod will keep the automatic opening of the exhaust in quiet mode at about 3500 rpm correct?
