Bluetooth Lady does not understand my Command (Update)
In searching the entire database and past threads on Bluetooth problems, I did not find this one. I just upgraded my iPhone 4 from ATT. I have attempted 5 times to pair my phone to my 2010 Coup. I know how to pair phones. This situation is specific. When it is time to say, "Pair", I say it and the voice lady says, "Help". This of course takes me through the whole prompting choices again. She does not understand my command. I have no accent, no speech impedement, no lisp, and speak clearly. Are there any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Update at bottom of thread.

Do you have anyone else who could try saying the word Pair? It might be the inflection in your voice. Good luck I will be watching this because I do have a heavy Texas accent and it causes a lot of problems.
What prompting choices? On mine, I press the steering wheel button for at least 2 seconds and then say "Pair". The lady responds with the four-digit code I have to enter into my phone.
That's the only time you say "pair". There is no prompting beforehand.

I hit the button and say, "Bluetooth". Then she gives me some options and I say "Pair". She responds with "Help" and gives me a whole new list of options to say.

Thanks for response. I will try, but I work with a bunch of retired military rednecks here at Edwards Air Force Base California. Ha!
I don't know about bluetooth in a Corvette but I recently setup bluetooth in a new Ford truck with the Microsoft Sync system. Does your system provide menu options for a non-voice method to initially pair the phone? If there's no way to initially pair the phone without voice input I like the suggestion to have someone else speak the command...have a few different people speak the command if necessary. See what happens. Are there other voice commands you can use successfully? Good luck and let us know if you get it to work.

When you say Bluetooth, what does she say? It should be "Bluetooth Ready". You said you are getting options? Maybe it isn't hearing the Bluetooth part. I've occasionally thought I was dialing using Bluetooth but it was actually dialing via Onstar, causing issues.
Also, I hate to state the obvious, but are you pushing the correct voice button? There is one on the steering wheel for Bluetooth and one on the Radio for Nav. Don't mean to insult your intelligence, but wanted to check in case someone forgot which is which.
Also, I think "Bluetooth" is optional. You can omit that step and simply say "Pair". Slowly and carefully. (I grew up in Texas, where we tend to say "Pay Her".)

Thanks for reply. I am hitting the top left button on the left side of the steering wheel. I will try one suggestion that someone shared with me. Ive been trying to set this up in the parking lot when I pull into work and engine still running. Sounds weird but the sound of the engine may distort my verbal commands. Staing "Pair", could indeed sound like "help" to the voice prompter. Will check in to this thread in an hour. Thanks again for all replys!
Voice recognition can work differently for different words and different people. It is not always a question of accent or speech clarity either. Get a friend to stop by and use his or her voice for the "pair".
(((((Bingo))))) I reapproached another attempt with engine off and all went well. It must have been the engine noise! Darn NPP at idle! The engine noise may have distorted my verbal commands. I want to thank everyone for your words of wisdom and I now owe somebody lunch! I am now paired and Bluetooth running. Thanks again!

You should have been with me in Scotland. They loved to kidd me about my accent. I am a cowboy and was showing some cubscouts over there how to rope. After the demonstration two of them came up to me and asked "cowboy do you really talk that way or is part of the act" Priceless.
It never understands " Call Lou" my dispatcher in the office.
One day I got so upset, I replied F**K You
And it asked "Call Lou?"
Now I have no problems getting the office....Ed
Not as funny, but my wife is named Jean and I have her cell and work numbers programmed in. When I try to call "Jean's cell", it always thinks I'm saying "Cancel" unless I'm absolutely stopped and it's quiet.
I think it's partly that the microphone isn't so good or isn't isolated well also.
