When I purchased my 06 new, I was supposed to get two free upgraded disks. I upgraded once but was late in getting the 2nd one.
GM shared with me back then, too late so sorry.
Question, does anyone have a newer disk that they are no longer using and may be interested in selling it or whatever.
Thanks
Fleabay is a common source, but be careful- you may get a disc that only works in other GM cars, or only 1 of the 2 discs (east & west) in the current set.
Be careful when ordering from the GM nav disc website, "latest version" to them means "latest version we have in stock, even if it's a year out of date." Check part number and date before ordering, they don't allow returns.
I called in and spoke with a customer service agent about my 2 free upgrades and she told me it had expired. Not giving up, I went online and requested my upgrade. After about two weeks they arrived in the mail. This is hit or miss. Some friends have tried the same method and it works 50% of the time.

They seem to put a new version in the new model year's car when those start shipping but delay the purchasing of them until they sell all the older ones. I have seen it as late as March of the following year before you can buy one. The web site supposedly allows you to buy the newer ones at a premium price.

Not legally, but as I recall they do state in the eula that they allow you to make one copy of each disc as a backup copy. The current discs are two dual layer DVD's, one for East area and one for West area.
Easily copied onto a DL disc. I use a copy in my car as it can be stolen out of the NAV unit. If they steal a $1 copy, I don't care, but if they stole my original....

OP, What version are you currently running? I have my old two disk sets that came with my 2009 in the spring of 2009 and I upgraded in 2010 and 2011. 2011, I think is the current version is in use but if I have a newer version then you currently have you are certainly welcome to the two disks and case they came in so they will get used an not just clutter up my place and never get used again.
Let me know?
Edit update: I have V 5.0 and V 6.0 available if they will help you out as an upgrade to what you got for your 2006.
