Yep, I prepped mine for winter. Since it's started cooling off here I aired the tires back up to the correct pressure for the current morning low temperature. Mine won't go in the garage except when it's snowing. I enjoy driving it too much to put it up for the winter.
So once the winter ends, can you just start the car right up with this seam foam stuff in your tank and fuel lines? Drive to the nearest gas station, fill up and drive without any worries.
Yes. No worries.
I like to add the Sea-foam, then top off the tank, and drive a few miles, to get it mixed in the tank, and into the injectors.
Keeping the tank full helps prevent condensation in the tank.
In the spring, just drive as usual, and add fresh gas asap.
I do the same with mowers, weedwackers, snowmobiles...
Never have issues the next season.
Yep, they salted the roads in NOVA a few days ago and re-salted last night. Once they start they dont stop until April. I plan on keeping my car 20 years so no salt for me! I need to go out to where I store it and do a few things, but its almost storage ready as is. I am a bit bummed, last year they waited until X-Giving.
I just bought my first new Corvette, It's a 2011 Cyber Gray Grand Sport and I have a couple of questions for you C-6 experts. First of all I noticed you guys are pumping up your tires, what is the reason for this, also the car only has about 700 miles on it, do I really need to change the oil before I put it away. Is it safe to leave a charger on the battery all winter with the car cover on. Thanks, Bob
Pumping up the tires to 40psi helps prevent flat spotting.
I believe it's a good practice to do your 1st oil/filter change at approximately 1,000 miles and then follow the percent oil life remaining as displayed on the DIC, not to exceed one (1) year maximum.
Whether you do the oil/filter change this fall or in the spring, that's up to you, many unique opinions in this area.
Hook up a true battery tender (not charger) on your GS and leave it on under your cover all winter, no problem at all.
