The key wrap must be the ticket. I DD my GS and the FOB is in my front left pocket everyday all day....I've got the key wrap....and never once have I set off the car alarm on accident.
My favorite trick is walking away from the car...and reaching in my pocket to activate the lock button just to hear the re-assuring horn beep to let me know all is locked up.....only to accidentally press the hatch open button. Suddenly you don't feel quite as cool while you do a little walk of shame back to the car to close it!
I took the fob apart and placed a piece of electrical tape over the switch contact.
That's a good idea. Mine goes off by accident quite often. Then I get pissed and hit the wrong button trying to turn it off and by the time I do get it to turn off,my blood pressure is probably off the charts!!!!!
I got one of those jackets, then cut a piece of thin-but-stiff plastic from the cover of a notebook. Trimmed it to fit inside the jacket and cover the whole front, including the buttons. Then I removed it and used a hole punch to make a hole over each button, big enough to push a ballpoint pen (tip retracted) in there to activate the button.
Before the mod, I was setting off the alarm 2 or 3 times a day (lots of stuff in my pocket). After the mod, I set off the alarm maybe once a year.
