Stupid alarm button
I am constantly bending over with the fob in my pocket and activating the alarm button.

I guess, but they gotta be damned tight pants.
I wear jeans 95% of the time with the fob in my left pocket. I've never had that issue.

It's been happening to me all the time. Now when I go out to the garage to putz around, I just put the fob on my workbench so it will leave me alone, lol.

I hit that damn button after I just bought it and some friends were looking at it. Then I couldn't turn it off. I felt like an a$$.

There are some rubber fob covers available that supply a bit of protection from pocket activations.
If you haven't discovered it already, when you hit the panic button, hit it again to turn the alarm off. At least that's what works for my '06.

Put it in your back pocket?
Actually, some have made custom holders, not unlike a cell phone holder type thingy. Has a barrier of some sort over the alarm button.

I have not tried any of these solutions to your problem yet but that red button pisses me off way too often as well. My fob is an 08.
I have heard of FOB jackets available that help prevent inadvertant alarms. Not sure if it available for my 08.
You can use glue to secure that red button so it won't push anymore.
You can open your FOB and put a piece of electrical tape between the contacts so the red button won't work.
You can stop bending over. You didn't say if that was a job requirement or something you do alot at home.
Just saying..........

I took the fob apart and placed a piece of electrical tape over the switch contact.

I have one of these, a number of different companies make them. The cover is raised just enough to prevent pressing the buttons, works for me.

Your not alone. Mine has gone off in my garage a few times. I'm not for sure how I hit it, maybe I'm bumping up against something, but its definately an unpleasant surprise.

I know I am old fashioned but rather than the fob I would just as soon have a door key that works an ignition.
