so true, my neighbor has a 88 mustang GT that he has done quite a bit of work to. The other day he tells me he dynod at 625 RWHP and asked me if i was ready to race. I just laughed and gave him a thumbs up.
I get the younger adults in the gym always talking about their friends cousins brother with the Honda or Acura that will beat my Vette. I wonder if I was that amusing when I was their age

At the track I always hear the import guys talk about how their 4 banger can beat a Vett. The ones that can beat a vett have so much money tied up in them they could have just bought a vett. They make two passes and they get kicked off the track for leaking coolant, oil, or parts. I think it is the whole under dog thing.
Man is there a lot of testosterone floating around......
IMO - Bottm line is the Vette is a total sports car, it can stop on a dime, it can pull +1G lateral, it is 0-60 sub 4 sec and it looks so much better than a rice burner, Mustang or Camaro.

I also like the advise they give. You should add N2O and a supercharger then you would have some real power.

I was thinking the same thing. They are rebuilding their engines or fixing something after every weekend.

My favorite story comes from a guy who I had some dealings with when I lived in Florida. His story started with "The highway patrol used to call me when they needed someone chased down." He went on to say that he had a Ford Falcon that would do 300MPH...no kidding...he said it with a straight face. Could drive from Miami to Tampa in 30 minutes. He got all that power using "diesel pistons" and drilled the head bolts all the way down into the crank case. One day the FHP called and told him that a Corvette was speeding on the Turnpike. Ol boy rolled out next to the Vette and when the Vette driver heard his engine it scared the guy so bad he just pulled over.
That is why I love the track. I listen to all the BS and then let the time slip do the talking. On the street I try to keep it around the posted limits. You have to many idiots driving around texting, putting on make up, or singing to them selves.
