The belt on my 07 chirps when the engine is cold. I hit it with a little wd40 and that stopped it temporarily. the car has 44k on it and the belts have never been changed...Do you think thats why it chirps?
Check some threads on this. Applying some belt dressing or other "lube" not necessarily a good idea for various reasons.
Also, a lot of the people on here recommend those after-market Goodyear belts if you are replacing because they don't chirp as badly as they age. I believe they are called "Gatorbacks" or something like that.
You better be sure its just a belt and not your harmonic balancer starting to go out. The belts also chirp with the balancer starts to wobble on the crankshaft!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am betting its the idler pulley chirping. Had that issue on my fbody back in the day. Put two sets of belts on it before I realized it was the pulley

I have some wobble, but doesn't look too bad...
The balance is still covered under the power train warranty so I'm not too worried about that....
Since the belts haven't been changed, thats probably a good place to start...
How long does the idler pulley usually last? i may change that as well...

My 07 had the wobbles, so I had these two upgrades installed. So far so good.
If you have balancer wobble and slight chirping when cold i'd take it in and get it replaced. To ignore it is to invite trouble. Since its under warranty, take it to a good dealership in your area, of course making sure they understand how to "lift" a corvette. Get it repaired asap!

As was said, make absolutely syure just what is chirping. The harmonic dampener/balancers on these are known for failing rubber inserts, causing chirping due to outer pulley wobbling, followed by pulley failure - usually at speed.
Mine is failing and I will be replacing it shortly.

So as I recall from my C5, the dealer replaced the pulley to stop the wobbling but did not change the dampner/harmonic balancer which is why the wobble came back in a few months.
As mentioned, good checking the balancer pulleys, but good going with a Goodyear Gatorback if changing the belt. Used to have several work Ford pick ups and vans, and the belts on all of these would chirp in damp weather. Changing to Gatorbacks solved this. Also, check the Gates rubber site, as they'll send you a free belt groove depth gauge.
