Default Positive Dealer Experience

I read thread after thread about Vette owners with dealer horror stories so I thought I would post something positive here to help alleviate some of the same stress I was feeling this morning as I dropped off my 09 Vert. I have ony owned the car for a month and traded an 07 coupe for it. I don't think the oil has ever been changed in the new one since it only had 3500 miles on it. I figured it was time. I also didn't like the way the car handled. It followed the lines in the road and the steering wheel wasn't perfectly centered so I asked for an alignment.
The service consultant, Gina, was great. I specifically mentioned jacking pucks and she made me feel comfortable saying they work on lots of Vettes and using the pucks was standard procedure. I asked about a ticking noise in the engine as well and she recorded that on the work order. I then took the courtesy shuttle to work.
About 15 minutes after I got to work Gina called and asked if I had the keys. They never come out of my pocket and she forgot to ask me for them so yes, the car was locked, sitting in the service bay and they didn't have the keys, oops. She sent the courtesy drive back to my work to pick up the fob.
She called about 3:30 and told me the car was ready and she sent the van back to pick me up. I got there, paid - $156.00 for the service and alignment - and she told me that the tech and the service manager both listened and said ticking was normal. She also said the alignment was out so I am happy I had it done.
I paid and the "valet" kid ran to get the car which had been washed and vacuumed for me. I would prefer to wash it myself but I have to give them an A for effort there.
The car drives perfectly now and I am very pleased with the experience. Thank you Bob McCosh Cheverolet in Columbia!

Always nice to hear of a good experience with service at a GM dealership. Thanks for sharing.

Stick with the good dealers. I've bought two new Grand Sports from Stasek Chevy in Wheeling, IL this year. About a 1000 mile drive (one way)for me, but great people to deal with.
The last time, I showed up late one night. They were washing up my new 2012 GS. They even washed up my 2011 GS and let me take it out that night before the trade the next day.
Great people, great service, and great prices.......

Sounds Great!

My son was fired from a Dealership because he moved the drivers seat in a Corvette that was in for service. He was told not to touch "anything on a Vette because the owners of Vettes are "very picky" about their cars...they don't want seats, steering wheels, or radio stations messed with.

Well he failed to listen and tried to justify he actions by stating he Dad owned a couple of show cars and knew how to handle special automobiles.

Bravo Bellamy Strickland Chevrolet in Mcdonough, GA. Even though they fired my son (age 17 now 24 and wiser for the expirence), they are truly one of the finest family owned operations in the South. I have purchased two cars from them and will continue to do so. They are great people and the customer is truly #1 there!

It was unfortunate that your son got fired, but I would bet after that experience his attention to detail is greater then other 24 year olds.

That is BS your son got fired over moving a seat in a Corvette. That is ridiculous. Hopefully your son finds a better dealership to work at.

As for me I have had my Vettes serviced at the same dealership for 15 years and have nothing but positive things to say about their Service Department.

Thanks for the support, but in the end he deserved it...failure to follow instructions on a $60K car and then try to justify it will get you everytime.

The point is, Bellamy Strickland is a great dealership with very high standards for their team...he was 17 then and in the learn mode...now 24, happy married and doing well

You paid for a alignment on a car with 3500 miles! Alignment was covered ONCE on the intial 12/12. So was/is tire balancing.

The car is an 09 with 3500 miles. A bit out of the initial 12/12 warranty.
