The drop-in Blockit sound mats make a noticable improvement, but not huge.
Michelin PS2 runflats also make a noticable difference, and the Michelin A/S runflats are even better.
With the Blockit mats and Michelin tires (PS2 summer, A/S winter) and GM PAL + Ipod (instead of XM); my Blose sound system has gone from "really crummy" to "ok".
My advice is to wear the OE tires out as soon as possible and replace them with Michelin A/S tires. Not only will they be quieter, they ride smoother, and don't follow the ruts in the road like the Goodyears, and way better tire in the rain.
Are you suggesting that people drive their Vettes in the rain?
I know this has probably been covered a kabazzilion times here, but I couldn't find it in a quick search.
Getting ready to trade in my '08 coupe for a new ('11) coupe. My current one is a 1LT and I'm thinking about stepping up to a 3LT.
My 1LT seems to have quite a bit of road noise on the highway, and I seem to recall at one time hearing that the 3LT has more sound deadening insulation. Is that true? Cant find a thing on Chevy's web site about it.
Thanks in advance for any help.
I would not be surprized if the factory removed insulation over the years to lower the cost of production. These are not supposed to be quiet cars.
