Painted console
Has anyone painted there center console? That flat gray is just ugly and replacements are pricy. I have a black Z06 and was thinking about painting it black. What are your opinions?

i painted mine
i have a 05 coupe. i painted the silver console flat black after having the car for about a month. it matches perfectly. i always thought the fake carbon dash looked out of place until I saw the newer style.

I saw someone selling one in gloss black not too long ago on the forum. I don't recall seeing that it sold. I think it was 100$ Surely easier then painting it. You an also get about $50-70 for your stocker.
I'll check and see if I can find it. If you decide to paint I would sand it down with fine sandpaper and spray it with some primer. Couple very fine coats. Let it dry and sand it again. Spray it with the black couple coats and then clear it if you want that shinny gloss finish. I did a couple parts in my engine bay. I used Silver to match my exterior and it came out really good.

I bought mine on October 18th. It has, what looks like, a small cigarette burn on the silver part. It is about 1/4" in diameter. I sure would like to touch that up. But it would be hard to get a color to match.....

Been something ive wanted to do for a while ! Had alot of pieces in my GT500 i did and figured i could give it a shot on the vette. If i hose it up Im still sub to this thread interested to see some home painted ones ..

I have never understood why one of the vendors has yet to offer flat or satin colors for the consoles rather than the gloss? 
I know the gloss matches the body paint but is does not match the stereo and temp controls which are flat black. Gloss does not look right to me so I have done nothing to date with my 05.

One of my favorite mods. The yellow really brightens up the all black interior. It's a little in your face, but so is a bright yellow sports car. 
I'm sure it's not for everyone but I love it.
