Painted mine a little while back..High Gloss Black with about 10 coats of clear...wet sanded and polished from 1000 grit to fine cutting polish...turned out awesome..Ill go and post pics when i get back home..really classes up the interior...you'll be amazed!!
Looking forward to seeing your gloss black. i have an 05 with F55 and trying to decide between flat black, gloss black, or leather cover for the radio bezel. Thanks in advance for posting
I agree, the stock flat silver is unbearable Also have a black Z, tried to paint the stock console and gauge cluster gloss black, and it did not turn out well. Guess it is possible as a DIY like some have said, but after about 10 hours of prep and spray, it was bad. The factory painted pieces are perfect in color and the clear coat is brilliant. Pretty spendy but worth the dollars IMO:
sorry i don't know how to paste the picture on here. I can tell you it is the exact shade as my radio and climate control. use some adhesive promoter and a few (3 i think) thin coats of paint and presto, perfect match and it only cost $5. don't forget the instrument cluster also.
if you want pm me your email & i'll sent you as many pictures as you want
Has anyone painted there center console? That flat gray is just ugly and replacements are pricy. I have a black Z06 and was thinking about painting it black. What are your opinions?
If you paint it I would use plastic adhesive promoter before spraying color. It is available in spray cans from body shop supply stores. It will gaurantee good adhesion. Also satin black seems to match HVAC conrtol panels better in my opinion. Lightly scuff with gray Scotchbrite pad, primer optional, 1 to 2 light coats of adhsive promoter, 2 light coats of Satin black (remember keep paint buildup to a minimum) Good luck.

i tried the fabric wrap with suede over the weekend and pretty much destroyed my dash lol Had to order another grey / silver one (thank god for ebay). If any one has any HOW TO's on wrapping with fabric please share lol
Does anybody know the name of the custom shop out in Long Island that does the painted consoles?? I can't find them online (again). Their stuff looked great when I saw their website a few weeks ago. Now I want to talk to them about doing my console and dash pods the the ext color.. (Monterey Red).. I think that would be sweet..
Yours and the yellow really look good......Did you remove the individual pieces? If so where do I look to find out how to remove them??? I've thought from day one the gray looks like p..p
