Well it seems like i leave here every couple of years and always end up back so i am sure i will be back again at some point.
I just let go of my 3rd C6, i moved to SoCal from NC and the roads are just so crappy here and the traffic is so stop and go it just lost its fun and on top of that i could tell the car was getting beat up from week to week.
I went back to an SL Mercedes which seems to fit the roads here better and still give me some top down fun.
Corvettes rock and this is still the best forum on the internet. Take care Guys,
Robert

wow, im shocked you would use socal as an excuse to get rid of the vette...its a paradise for our rides. I understand the traffic thing but there are amazing road trip roads all over the place down there...i miss it already and ive only been gone a year. Best of luck to you.
Robert I did just the opposite of you. I have had Vettes since 79 and I strayed and bought an SL600 four years ago. I never quite felt that it was my type of car. It was fast but I even tough I bought it new, I had quite a few problems with it. I finally sold it with only 12,000 miles on it and am back to a Vette. I think you may be too. Good luck with the SL, is a great automobile.

Since you have owned 3 C6s I'm guessing you like them for a reason. Mercedes SL is nice until you pay for insurance/maintenance.
Ditto. I had a Mercedes (E320 sedan) for 9 years, 198,000 miles. The engine was great (which is why I kept it so long), but I had the "joy" of many things requiring more than ordinary service after the first covered 50,000 miles (on top of the massive cost of ordinary maintenance), and, until I went to an independent shop, paid through the nose for everything. The so-called Corvette Tax is nothing compared to Mercedes. I also live in an area where I see Mercedes, BMWs and Audis all the time (yep, everybody's keepin' up with everybody else, 'cept me, see my sig); don't see that many Vettes, but, when I do, "The Wave" is alive and well!
