it would probably help if you gave some more info on the year of the car, did you buy it new and if not do you know if they had taken it in for the service bulletin on the issue?? in the mean time you can look up top at the sticky notes on this or do a search...

Your owner's manual describes the necessity to lube the rubber sealing strips on the top several times a year.
