I had an 05 DSOM coupe before trading it for my CTSV. Loved the color, though the ad-man who thought it up was obviously geographically challenged. Last time I looked at the map, seemed to me that it should have been Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic, not sunset.

Congrats and welcome! Have they done anything to the interior? I thought the best appearance thing I ever did was to add the gunmetal carbon fiber look console. Is it a 6 speed? I've been very pleased with the MGW shifter. Have fun!

Obviously the sun sets on Daytona just like it does everywhere else. Also obviously, those sunsets are occasionally orange. But the imagery addressed by picking the name of a famous beach racing course would suggest sun over the water and racing beach, and with Daytona Beach on the east coast of Florida, the sun rises over the beach and sets inland. It’s a small point, but one that always amused me.

But, I do know what you mean - like the closing scene in "The Green Berets" where The Duke is on a beach somewhere on the east coast of Vietnam, and the sun is setting in the east out over the South China Sea!!!! I flew out of Da Nang, and I know the sun sets over the hills inland to the west there also!!

Hmmm....okay - I guess living here I just never thought of it that way. I've always watched the sun go down in the west, and I've seen an orange sky quite often during sunsets over the 15 years I've lived here.

OK, back to the original question. I have a 06 DSOM vert Cashmere interior & top my cosmetic mods. Exterior painted to match: door handles, high mount stop lamp, & rear license plate holder. Interior: 2010 GM Hydrocarbon radio/console bezel, black gauge bezel, Lloyd mats, & trunk lid liner.
