Read the posts about key in the car, making spare keys for your wallet, doesn't anyone (at least the early C6 owners) keep the key attached to the FOB, there's a loop on the FOB for a key ring and key....

I'm glad you resolved the problem. I suggest you carry the key with the fob and have a spare key for emergencies.

Perhaps not but if you have AAA (which I do) it's a viable option.

Had the dealer make me a key based on my vin #. Will try it and see if it works when I get home.

bruno06,
I've never personally heard of anyone having issues with a key they have cut from the VIN. Let me know if you have any problems.

Justin

Dealer cut key worked perfectly. Got in the car without issue. Battery is dead, dead. I have to jack it up and move it a little so I can get the battery charger on it. It is parked right up against a cabinet that has the charger in it.... go figure.

I am close now. Get that battery charged, tested and then go riding. Have to wait til the weekend now. Busy, busy.

If it is dead dead, you might have warped a plate and a charge won't help you at all. You may need to bite the bullet and replace the battery.
