Default Lockpick 360

I had a little booboo this weekend. While backing up in a dark parking lot, I bumped into a light pole structure. Before you ask, no the light was not on, LOL. Damage to the left bumper was minimal $630.00.

I have decided to get the LOCKPICK 360 with rearview camera. The installation looks to be straight forward but I don’t care to take on this task. I went to several audio installer shops in the Katy, TX area and most of them have not even heard of the LOCKPICK and the others have not installed one. I don’t want them to learn on my car. Can someone recommend an installer in the Houston area.

PS no pictures of the damage, I want no reminders of it

I cna understand your reluctance to try the install by yourself but it looks like more of a take it easy and do it in stages type project. The instructions make it look fairly easy.

The question is if you only want the back up camera it would seem that there are other options available. There are way too many bells and whistles if all you want is the camera. Who needs a remote control. When you put it in reverse you should see the camera on the screen period. That's the way my MB works. IMO I think you should keep looking.

I live near Austin , TX. I had mine installed at an auto electronics shop in Cedar Park, TX. I got the 360 from the maker in Florida and they installed it for me. They did a first class job. I am completely satisfied with their work. The name of the shop is Acoustx. Phone 512-335-6200. I would check them out if I were you.

What options are there besides this? For a few hundred more you could replace the factory nav with a much better aftermarket one

The ones I like are expensive and since this is not a daily driver, I can to justify blowing that type of money. I have the bose system with steering wheels controls and onstar. Those adapters runs the price up.

Open to any suggestions.

I have the Lockpick 360 and I installed it myself.

It wasn't difficult, just time consuming.

A good car audio shop shouldn't have a problem with it. There's no splicing of wires, just fuse taps. Granted, one of the steps is partially disassembling the head unit and running a new ribbon cable inside.

To clear up one misconception, you don't need to use the remote to see the rear view image when backing up: you just shift into reverse, and the camera image displays. The remote is used to activate the nav input override so you can enter addresses while in motion.

If I had it to do over again, I would have bought an all new head unit from the guy with Double D mods. He puts together packages for forum members and everybody has seemed very happy with him. I like the lock pick; it's ok, but the customer service at Coastal E Tech is a nightmare.

PS: I installed the lock pick for the primary purpose of a rearview camera. I didn't care about watching movies, etc, but it works for that.
