As my wife says there should be only one type of Vette, just as they were in the beginning..... a roadster. Glad they make a coupe for those who like the a/c on.
Now that we're older the heated seats are sure nice on a crisp day with the top down. Oh, I forgot, the original Vettes didn't have heated seats...... my bad.

They started with a Blue Flame i6 as well. Should theyhave kept that tradition? j/k
would you buy a new gs vert or a used z06? i'm not comparing cars just want too know which if you had the choice. thanks
Since you said in another post you aren't that interested in performance you have more than one choice. The base car or the GS. Either will do what you want but the base car will be cheaper than the GS, will have a softer riding suspension and avoids the expensive brakes and the rapidly wearing tires (8/32 tread depth brand new).
I use my Corvette as a daily driver. For MY purposes, the ride of the Z06 was too harsh. If it was a weekend toy, I would probably have purchased the Z06. Depending on your intended use, a back-to-back test drive might give you some information toward purchase.
I think you are right on with that line of thought. For me, my car is a weekend toy and not the DD. I would look for a slightly used Z, maybe 3 or so years old. Neither is cheap of course...

I was in the same situation about a year ago. I was looking at a GS coupe and a Z06. I test drove both and after much thought I got the Z06 and never looked back.
IMO the primary consideration is how do you intend to use the car? If performance is key go with the Z06. The Z06 wasn't available when I bought my C6 or it would have been a no-brainer....I'd get the Z06. That said the GS is no slouch either. I've seen some lightly modified GS's that do very well at the track. Good luck whichever you decide on.
Don't forget the two speed Powerglide transmission. Talk about all show and no go!
You are aware that one of our forum venders is offering a 2 speed powerglide transmission upgrade for the C6, aren't you? And those that purchase it, aren't looking for more show, but more go.
There is no comparing a NEW GS VERT to a USED Z06. Two totally different cars.
Yeah.. it really depends what's more important to you. Do you want damn good performance and handling, but like the open air driving in a convertible? Or, do you want even higher performance and are you going to track the car?
