I got my '06 3LT vert 2-years ago with 17k miles, GM certification for $34k. Seems about on-par with above. Car stickered for $61 in the year of issue.
i bought my 06 3lt black vert in dec 08. it had corsa exhaust, z06 rims, red calipers, custom seats, blackwing cai, 8000 miles. paid 34,000. just saw today - don't know options - 06 black vert at a local dealer with 32,000 miles advertised for 41,900. go figure ? maybe i should sell lol.
Bought myself a 08 3LT, NPP exhaust, z51 package for 30k with only 19k miles. I have been looking for a deal a very long time and jumped on this when I found it.
There is more to pricing than the average on Ebay or Cars.com. GS vs Non GS is a pretty big number. Most of the 10 -11 with the stick seem to be GS.
Condition is also a factor but I have never seen a used car for sale that didn't look great. I don't put a huge factor on condition unless something is obviously wrong. Mileage counts but I would rather have a high mileage newer car than the same mileage on an older car.
Do these seem like reasonable numbers? I am basing them on numbers I see advertised on the internet by new car dealers.
Ball park for a 3lt Vert maybe MPP reasonable miles
08 32 - 34 good over 36 pretty high over 41 ridiculous
09 38 - 41 good 42 - 45 pretty high over 46 ridiculous
10 45 - 48 good
11 50 (non GS) 55 (GS) good
12 58 (non GS) 64 (GS) good 74 ridiculous
It sounds like you are looking at non-GS convertibles. One additional thing to consider is that there are not that many of them.
There were 3,343 convertibles in the 2009 model year, but when the GS was introduced for 2010 the number of "base" convertibles dropped to only 1,003 then 780 last year. The relative scarcity within a given geographic market combined with the fact that they tend to be the most babied and least-driven of all Corvettes may account for some of the prices you are seeing.
One of my sons in law is looking at C5 convertibles and finding typical asking and selling prices in the mid to high $20s for 2003-2004 models. Corvettes typically don't depreciate as rapidly as other vehicles.

I bet those are all automatics too. I do not need to have a GS. It would probably return most of the premium when it gets sold down the road but I don't plan to take it to the track or finance the state of Connecticut so there is little point in having it. Trouble is I have not seen any base LT3 sticks that I like.
I’ve searched ebay, auto trader, craigslist, and corvette forum every single morning for a long time.
It’s a very complex situation between corvette specific economics, and the macro picture of the country’s economy.
From what I gather, the z06 sellers are taking a blood bath. The prices on those cars are dropping like rocks. IMO, a lot of z06 owners over reached to buy an 80k car and they’re forced to dump it when finances get bad. It’s an expensive car to operate when you factory tires/insurance/gas. You can get a used z06 for 40-45k right now.
On the other hand, production numbers for corvettes have fallen off to almost non-existent the last 3 years. If you’re looking for a specific optioned 08-10, they’re just not out there. So you have to pony up.
If you’re not specific, GM and the dealerships are offering ridiculous prices on brand new vettes. Brand new, 100k mile warranty for only a couple grand more? Most buyers will take that all day.
List price for an LT3 Vert, NPP, F55, chrome wheels and flags on the headrest. (yeah I know $300.00 for embroidery!!!) museum delivery, battery saver is right at 70. Take off the wheels, museum, & 15% from the forum dealers, $750.00 in incentives I qualify for and you end up around $57. Doesn't sound to bad if it's realistic but there are a couple of 2011 GS LT4's out there similarly equipped asking the same money. I guess it doesn't make a lot of sense to buy used if you don't need the GS. Choices, choices!
