Default Rocker panel damage

Does this damage on the rocker panel look to be an easy fix? How noticeable if at all do you think it would be if fixed by a professional body shop? Would this deter you from buying an otherwise clean car?

It wouldn't necessarily deter me depending the the condition of the rest of the car. I think it would be an easy fix/blend. But I would certainly use it as a bargaining chip to get a lower price.

Some people like to hit speed bumps and dips at whatever speed they are driving. I'd look at the front air dam to see if any more damage is there, also the oil pan. Hell, I'd put it on a hoist and see the whole underside!

A good body guy could fill that in and you would never notice it. Are you buying it or is it yours?

Definitely get it fixed. Not that costly, and presents the car better.

I get it now.

Have the seller fix it first, or discount the value of the repair cost. No hidden damage should be due to that.

Same thing happened to me but it was farther under and can only be seen if I press my chest to the ground. I'll repair it at my first oil change.
Any auto paint store can mix your exact color into a spray can to help hide it.

I turned right too soon in a dark parking lot and caught the nose of a parking divider curb I was really po'd after being so careful everywhere else. I took it to a local family owned body shop and it was fixed in a couple of days, $505, did an excellent job. I would just factor it into the price. Just be sure to check out the body shop first for Corvette experience (the owner had owned several Corvettes until recently)

Maybe this will make you feel better. At least yours doesn't look like this.

I am having to replace my rocker panel. It was damaged beyond repair.

It will look like new when it gets done though.

I've had worse damage on mine and fixed it, can't even tell.

especially if you're considering buying the car with the damage.

Unfortunately the shop painted over the bolt plus oversprayed the rear inner fender so that it will be obvious it was fixed on the car if anyone inspects it very closely at all.

I have a couple of scuffs on the underside of the rockers; out of sight. I don't worry about it because they can't be seen. No cracks, just a good, deep paint scuff.

If you can't see it without a mirror when standing next to the car then it is insignificant. I have several of those on the bottoms of my rockers and they are not from hitting speed bumps. If it was on a Toyota would you complain? Well maybe yes since a Toyota would rust out but that scratch won't affect a Vette.

My passenger side rocker was damaged as well by a stupid mistake on my part. I bought a new rocker panel and shelled out the money to have it color matched but I never installed it. I tried another body shop who was able to repair the damage and now you can't even tell it was ever damaged. I hold onto my spare just in case.

Default rocker pannel

I am in the used car business and I know appearances are utmost in sales. As suggested in another response use the scrape to your advantage in bargaining. Ask for a discount deeper than the repair. If the car suits you otherwise buy it. Then live with the scrape for a while and if it still brothers you get it fixed professionally.
