Thanks all. It's getting better. Tomorrow is Friday, and I am off for Super Bowl w/e, the busiest DUI weekend of the year. The car will be fixed next week, and life will go on.
Thank you all for a large shoulder. I am not too proud, nor arrogant, to use it on occasion. Mine can be pretty broad as well.
Stay safe, drive fast and swerve!

Glad things are better, enjoy the Vette when she's fixed.

Didn't know SuperBowl weekend is the busiest DUI weekend of the year though.

That was not my take-away from this! The OP is having a bad week and it is cummulative. Certainly you can see how these things piling up one after another can cause the best of us to be in a real "funk"!

Police work is tough man. Getting your mind "off" work is of most importance.

Picking a hobby, such as uhmm working on your vette is relaxing. I understand that if you hobby gets wrecked and that is your "safe" place it can put things off balance.

I hope you have a good weekend, get your hobby back on track and that you get over the recent events at work.

Cheers mate!

I'm not one to discuss personal business on the internet, but this one hit home. The way I see it, you're shift went as expected and you succeeded in the #1 Goal of Law Enforcement. You WENT HOME AFTER YOUR SHIFT! Everything between your checking in service to your going 10-7 (Out of Service), were just "Jobs" and you got them done.

Tell my partner's family about your bad day. I'm sure they'd consider you pretty lucky to be able to step foot in your Corvette:

Police Officer
Christopher Matlosz
Lakewood Police Department, New Jersey

End of Watch: Friday, January 14, 2011

Police Officer Chris Matlosz was shot and killed by a man he had stopped to talk to on August Drive at approximately 4:00 pm.

Officer Matlosz was on patrol when he stopped his patrol car to speak with a man walking along the road. As they spoke, the male took one step back, drew a handgun and shot Officer Matlosz three times, killing him.

The suspect immediately fled the scene. He was arrested in Camden by members of the New Jersey State Police and United States Marshals Service 38 hours after the shooting when investigators received a tip on his whereabouts.

The subject was charged with Officer Matlosz's murder and another murder that had occurred the previous October.

Officer Matlosz had served with the Lakewood Police Department for five years. He had previously served with the Englishtown Police Department for two years and had also served as a special police officer with the Freehold Township Police Department, Long Branch Police Department, and Manasquan Police Department.

He is survived by his fiancee, mother, and brother.

Strangely, I'm ok with all this until I'm driving my 05 coupe to work the next day, can't avoid a deep dip/separation in road, and literally bounce the front left wheel. The aluminum frame, I guess skid plate, cracks, wheel line rips off, tears front balance off and drives up into engine compartment breaking the radiator shroud.
That sucks. I actually filed a claim with the state, and they said get 2 estimates, but they don't guarantee they'll pay it.
Damage amounts to around $2800. Air bag light is on and active handling.
That's the straw.....
We shall see.
This is why I choose to run into burning buildings instead.Be safe
