Hopefully Spring will be here soon. Just wanted to see if any of you that use a indoor car cover have ever tossed it into the washing machine? My cover is about 6 years old, and I would like to clean the dust off before folding it up and putting it away. Any thoughts?
I purchased the indoor cover from Chevy. I have washed it 3-4 times now with no bad affects. I place it in the washing machine on delicate and hang dry using 3-4 hangers. When dry I run it in the dryer for about 2 mins.

I took my indoor cover to the local laundromat. Big washers and dryers. Very light soap and a medium warm, not hot dryer. Came out fine, and got rid of the tire dressing that sometimes gets on the cover edges and messes up the car when I take it off/put it on....

Thats what I do with my covers about every other year.

Take it to the laundramat used light soap I think it was wool lite? not sure
Mine has been through the washer and dryer at least 3 times since I've owned it.
Putting it in the dryer has removed most of the lint from it, with no ill effects on the cover. I'm guessing it's 3 or 4 years old, but not sure, since it came with the car.
We get a lot more dust here than most places, so it needs washing after a haboob, even when its garaged.
Put it in commercial double load (non agitator) with a 1/4 cup of simple green & cold water. Put it through rinse cycle twice. Simple Green is organic and it will remove most of the tire dressing with one wash.
Better to wash it in a tumble type machine rather than one with a center post agitator to reduce risk of getting a rip in the cover. Regular washer might be OK just never used one.
