I read where Eli refused to accept the Centennial edition Corvette MVP award because of his involvement with Toyota.I'm a fan but that's not sitting well with me.
I'm not a huge football (or Eli) fan but I can understand. If he has committments to Toyauto why bite the hand that feeds you by accepting and driving a Chevy. Personally, I think I would have been gracious enough to accept the award and then donate the car to charity.

That's called integrity.
I guess some folks don't bother to see if something's already been posted before they start a thread.
Just because he was sponsored by Toyota is no excuse for snubbing the car. He ISN'T endorsing it, it was a gift, so what if he is sponsored by Toyota...this is just as pathetic and embarrassing as when when Emerson Fittipaldi drank a celebratory bottle of orange juice instead of milk after winning the Indy 500.

Funny..I thought the hand that fed Eli was the NFL. After all who would Eli be without the NFL?
I don't think he snubbed it "publically". Also, if he is contracted by Toyota there are probably stipulations on what he can or cannot drive/own. The Manning family are stand up people, so I don't his reasoning..

What? He snubbed it publicly, did you not see what millions of people on TV saw?

But he later accepted it a day later out of the limelight?
Did the contract change overnight?
Never saw the "Tag Heuer" and "Breitling" celebrity race car drivers (eg: Juan Pablo Montoya etc)not accept their "Rolex's" after winning their classes in 24 Hours of Daytona.

Did chevrolet offset Eliminar a sponsorship gig? You cantar blame him if he has a deal with Toyota. His deal with Toyota probably requires him to drive a Toyota product.
Remember that many Toyota products that built in the US(for instance the Camry).
I would like to know how many critizing here drive a foreign car
when not their vette. As for me, my other car is a cadillac sts.
He didn't. He was just overwhelmed having won the SB. Prolly would have acted the same for any car given him. Did it look bad for GM? Yes. Was it on purpose? I doubt it. But if it was it was to protect his contract with Toy(ota).
