Glenn, If you really want to be a unique C6 owner...read the owners manual before you lock yourself either in or out of the car, before you check the oil level, before you start pushing all the buttons on the dashboard, etc. Be a one of a kind.
If your car has "summer" or "performance" tires, they lose significant traction below 40 degrees. All season tires (like Michelin Pilot Sports) would be an improvement for colder weather. Also, be sure your traction control is on. For most street situations, it will keep you from getting into trouble. Competition mode, and deactivating the traction control are for competition (on a track) not the street.
Other than that, I find shifting 1st to 2nd between 3000 - 3500 rpm adequate to pull away from traffic without drama. How fast you get get from 1000 rpm (approx. idle speed) to 3000 rpm depends on the weight of your right foot.
believe me I DO! can someone give me a hint on what speed RPMS to shift from 1st to 2nd
If you are running at wide open at the red line. Never ever turn the nannies off unless you have a clear area. It can do a 360 on you or a 180 or any combination there of.
My bud turned them off and ouch won't say anymore.
Normal street driving shift it like any other car.

I haven't even tried to turn it off yet.
I always drive my cars like I stole’em, this car has so much power…I guess I just need more practice with warm tires and less pedal from 1st to 2nd!
I tried the quick shift at about 3500 all that gets me is fish tailing
