If you can blow air in there with "dust buster" can of compressed air or something similar, it may correct the problem.
If you can somehow get access to a DVD that you know is good, and try it your unit, that would answer if your DVD is bad, or the NAV unit needs to be looked at.
Too bad your so far away. I could of lent you a copy of the 2013 DVD to try out. I have the original, but use a copy for my Nav unit, and it works A-1 in my 2006 Nav.

I have a 2006 Vette I bought a year ago with 20,000 miles on it that the nav system has never been upgraded on at all.. still has the original 2.o in the glovebox.. leads me around in circles.. do you have any of the software and firmware upgrades laying around you'd like to part with? I'm in Emeryville Ca.. New to this forum, but been pulling my hair out trying to follow this units instructions. Also, do you leave the dvd in the unit all the time?.. I'm challenged in this arena... thanks for any input you can offer.

Cheers.. Tom

Tom,

Any DVD above 2.0 will upgrade your system maps and POI's. The last version made for the C6 was version 9.0 (2013) so the 2006 DVD has 7 years of updates and upgrade for the system.
The DVD does stay in the NAV DVD slot at all times.
The system is not as intuitive as a Garmin, but it is quite powerful and works quite well once you can learn it's nuances.
There is a tutorial made by Talon90 that explains the system and has many good tips on how to operate it.
Of course, the more you use it, the more you will learn about other features. I added the link for the tutorial (Thread #1)

PM me for more details if you want

Thanks a bunch my friend for the info.. I'm going online now to order the new disc. Very helpful, appreciate the response. I'll watch the tutorial also, I'm sure it will be helpful. Be safe out there.

Best,
Tom
