Default While it was 40° & rainy, in 1 hour no less...

I completely removed all 4 wheels and cleaned them inside and out, and put brand new Carbon Ceramic pads on all 4 corners.

Too bad it was nasty outside otherwise I would of taken the car out and bedded in the pads while I had time. Next round of mods comes in tomorrow, Elite Engineering catch can and 160° thermostat. Prob put the can on tomorrow if it gets here, thermostat is going to wait until it gets back into the 50°+ outside since it will take a little time to change it out.

So far not too bad, the C6 seems to be pretty easy to work compared to some of the other cars I have worked on.

Dude, why do you care so much about people and their catch cans? Just as bad as LJ and his h***on for GS's.

OP let us know how the pads work out.....are these supposed to cut down on the brake dust?

Yeah they should cut down on the dust but not give up much in braking power. The catch can part, people can think what they want. I have used them on my last 3 LSx powered GM vehicles. If you saw the amount of oil that comes out of the can after 5000 miles most would use one as well.

I dont beat on my car other than the occassional romp on the highway and such and I stilll pull 4oz+ of oil out of the can every oil change. that is 4oz of oil that would of have went into the TB system and or the inside of the intake.

So do as you want and I will do as I want.

Good on you! You did it in record time....it would have taken me twice as long. I don't think a catch-can is necessary for a street car but it might help. On my car, driven mostly at WOT, the catch-can removes a fair amount of oil. I do like the Elite Engineering catch-can. Other than being a quality product it comes with all the pieces-parts needed for installation. That's a real plus.

Yes, please keep us in the loop, I want to do the same thing to cut down on the dust and get rid of that God Awful brake squeak.....what kind of pads did you use? Everyone seems to like Hawk.....and I wouldn't say a thing about your catch can because I don't have a clue what it is!

GM and most all manufactures recycle the mistified oil back thru the intake system so it can be burned during the combustion cycle. Only bad thing about this is the oil coats the inside of the throttle body (causing a sticky TB) and inside of the intake, coats the backside of the intake valves and eventually the tops of the piston.

Some research has shown that it can also causes Pre-ignition (detonation) to more adept to happen which can cause timing to be pulled by the ECM.

I have always ran them on my cars, but then again I also run Seafoam thru my cars as well and can tell the intakes stay cleaer longer and I dont usually have any recorded events or KR when I am logging with HP Tuners.
