Removing C6 Dash...Anyone done it?
Has anyone here removed the top portion of the dash? I'll be removing it to wrap it in ferrari leather soon and just wondering what I'm in for to remove it.
Anyone have a link to removal?

Be sure you take good notes and some comparative pictures. Ray's write up is great, but there is no such thing as too much information. I plan to do mine sometime in the future - after the seats.

By CAKE, you mean the kind that crumbles into a thousand pieces when you try and stab it with a fork? You are a brave dude. I wouldn't even dream of attempting it, because I would end up with a couple dozen extra screws and rattles that would cause seizures.

Great Link!!!
I have not removed a C6 dash yet. I do the C5 cars all the time to repair the heads up units. I can remove the C5 dash in one hour, but the C6 looks like more work.

It is pretty involved but comes right out when you've found all the fasteners. Be very careful around where the gauge clustrer rests/mounts. Very thin plastic an will break just looking at the wrong. Other than that I think it took me about 2 hours to remove my last dash.

Good to know! I didn't mean hard to remove door panels, I meant hard as in trying to do those in leather as there is some real stitchwork involved there. Dash, not so much for what I am going to be doing. I'm not worried about it really, I've gutted everything BUT the dash already about 3 times most recently for sound deadening looks like I'll be able to do MORE. In addition, customer decided she wants the audi velour carpet installed! That'll be interesting!

505, you resurrected an old thread. That's the bad news, the good news is it happens to everyone sooner or later.
