i dont drive my car hard at all but i did have to try it once on my 2012 coupe. put it in first and stomp it in comp mode and my car stayed at 4100 rpms no higher. let the clutch fly and that was it. in my opinion it comes out of the hole pretty meekly with launch control but then again im no racer. i think the car would serve you better to leave it off if you really know how to launch a corvette which by the way i don't!
I tried it a few times and the rpm was higher then 4100. When I popped the clutch, the whole car was vibrating like crazy spinning the wheels. I'd rather leave the line at around 3500 just letting the clutch out quickly and limit the spinning. LC seems pretty hard on the car to me.
Clutch? Absolutley. At least need to brake torque. Don't need to push it all the way to the floor. Just a quick hit. I have seen guys use a kill switch but I think your are jeopradizing your tranny. You will damage sync rings.
We are not talking about a dedicated Race Car. This is your street car too.

yea i corrected my post after i ran outside and tried it and it was 4400 rpm. the first time i tried it it seemed a little meek to me and i could have sworn it was 4100 rpm. thats why i had to try it again today and thats how i know its 4400. and just like you the whole car was shaking and vibrating. it could be the tires in my case because it is 35 degrees in ny today. but having launch control doesn't sway me one way or another. i dont drive my car hard, i dont race and i dont burn rubber. today was the third time i tried the launch control and probably the last.
If you tried with cold tires on cold pavement, then what you heard and felt was the computer/engine pulling a boat load of power in an attempt to control wheelspin under pretty lousy traction conditions.
That said, I don't think LC is something most folks are going to be using a lot. I'm not planning to.
