In January, I got a pop up on my computer screen with a $1000 private offer from GM which I printed out. Problem is, that offer expired Jan 31st. I'm taking delivery of my new GS this month (March) as it took some time to be built. Any thoughts or suggestions? Anyone here still getting pop up offers? I'd really like that $1000 dollar savings.
Just tell the dealer you expect him to honor it, otherwise you will walk. Just be prepared if he calls your bluff. Find another one at one of the forum venders you would be happy with as a backup.
You are eligible for whatever incentives are in effect at the time you take delivery. The good news for you is that there were just a bunch of new incentives announced today...some of which may be worth more to you than that $1K certificate. Check out Kerbeck's post about the latest incentives.

Now how is the o/p going to walk ? He ordered the car ! he's not buying it off the lot.
People can do some sh!tty and unethical things but the botom line is any rebates, interest rates or incentives must be in effect at time of purchase and delivery, not when you order a vehicle.
I ordered mine, you can walk at any time for any reason.
I'd love to hear your reaction if you ordered a car and when it came it the dealer decided to sell it to someone else, just because they can. It works both ways...

My understanding is it was either what (incentives) were in place at time of order, or delivery, whichever is better.

You are only eligible for incentives that exist on the day the car gets reported as sold and it goes into service. Check out this post where Kerbeck explains it.

nope, sorry, not the case and we explain this to our customers that order a car so we can help them make the best decison with information that is available at the time!
Don't forget to ask about the $1000 loyalty cash, if you own another GM car, less than 5 years old. Bought my daily car a couple years ago, for employee pricing + $2000 rebate. Dealer called me before delivery, asking about the Vette, and gave me another $1000 bucks. Never hurts to ask. He didn't care, as employee pricing's a fixed commisson for him anyway.
Honor what, the offer has expired. Walk away nice ethical way to do business. How about talk to the dealer show them the offer, see if they can do anything else for you in the line of a discount.

Same thing happened to me. I actually called the GM marketing number on the website and explained it to them, They sent me a new offer. I didn't say I ordered a new car, but said I am considering a Chevrolet and they sent a new one.
You aren't really saying when you ordered the car. Was the car already ordered before you got the popup? Why didn't you take the popup to the dealer and ask about it when the popup came on your computer and ask about it then? You could still ask about it I guess but I wouldn't expect too much now.

Threaten to walk away? Assuming the OP placed an order, agreed to its terms and likely paid a deposit...it seems to me the OP is contractually obligated (and honor bound) to take delivery as agreed to. My word is my bond...if I agree to something I'm obligated...I do it.
That said I'd certainly try a 'softer' approach to see if the dealer would honor the never mentioned and possibly expired incentive. Hopefully, the dealer would have the foresight to make a good-will gesture and honor the incentive. Taking less now may make a customer for life and pay-off in the long run. Personally, I don't respond well to threats and I wouldn't expect the dealer to either.
As mentioned above I believe the current offers on Corvettes have been increased so you probably qualified for a better in incentive package than when the car was ordered?
As far as the $1000 "incentive" incentives are just that, "incentive" to buy a car now... The coupon I'm sure clearly stated (as they all do) that the consumer must take deliver by such and such date etc...
The dealer has ZERO control over that... From experience I have NEVER seen a manufacturer honor a expired incentive unless they were somehow at fault and then it would be given as a different incentive..
I won't comment on the "threaten to back out of the deal" line as I'm a former car dealer and have some fairly strong views on people that do stuff like that... Again, the dealer has ZERO control of this... It's a manufacturers incentive..
Heck 2 weeks after I bought my 2011 GM increased the incentives I would have been eligible for by $3000 dollars!! It is what it is... Life goes on, enjoy your new car....
