When it comes to stuff like this, my brain is wired to think very simply. For the life of me, I can't figure out how the top dogs at Sirius / XM can justify sitting back and not doing anything to improve things. There's no way they can be oblivious to how their company is perceived by past and present subscribers yet the problems continue to run rampant without any traces of improvement. Their customers are saying in big numbers, "You guys suck" yet corporate management is not the least bit interested in fixing the problems. It's way beyond horrible management - it's downright arrogance.

I'm waiting for things to hit the fan in about a week. My wife's new SRX trial period ends mid-month so over the weekend I paid the one month extension explaining it should be grouped with my 'Vette and CTS as well, (like her previous SRX was) so we get the multiple radio discount. You can be assured that will not go according to plan. They made me talk to a supervisor to cancel the service on the vehicle we traded! I about lost it at that point. I pay monthly by check; it may cost more but they don't have a cc of mine and never will! I'm not a total audio freak so the sound quality has been acceptable to me-it's the billing/customer service that is terrible. My 14 hour trips to Nashville visiting our son at Vanderbilt have been made tolerable with XM, so I'm not totally against the concept.

I couldn't agree more. Arrogance without even a hint of trying to make things right. I talk to them about every 3 mos as they always screw some thing up. I love the concept, but I just can't take the rest of the supidity. I'm gone in 3 months and they won't even care.

They run the company just like the US government.

The XM receiver is located above the left rear fender, right behind the drivers seat, under the trunk liner.
Just unplug it & the XM bands won't show up on your radio anymore.

I keep reading these horror stories but I've never had a problem with them. I got the 5 month for $20 deal 2 years ago. Every 5 months I call them and they renew at the same price. When I put the car away for the winter I call to suspend it. In spring I take the car out and activate it again.

I cancelled my XM on my 2011 SRX and 09 Corvette.

Use USB Flash Drives and have over 3000 songs sure better than paying for it, to much of a hassle. You can get a full year for about $90.00 and if you do not know how to get that price you end up paying about 150.00. You would think with two car they would go out of their way to give you a great price.

Also same game with OnStar, learned on this forum you can pay less.

unfortunately great product,BUT their business practices are fraudulent. They will give you a great rate (only) if they get your credit card info. They SAY you only have to call them to cancel at any time. However, they will continue to bill you. When cancelling, I tell them upfront (because it is an FCC regulation) that I am recording the call. They continued to bill me until they received a letter from my attorney. They never apologized or even provide (bogus) explanation.

The company totally sucks but your statement is not true. I have NEVER given them a credit card. Every year I get on the phone with them, tell them what they can do with the paper invoice that they sent me (over $300 for 2 cars for a year), and tell them that I'm not renewing. After all of the jerking around, getting put on hold, and getting transferred I always end up with the same outcome: They offer me $140 for 2 cars for 12 months COMPLETE. No additional fees, taxes, royalties, no additional anything. I tell them to send me a paper invoice and I receive it within a week or so. I write them a check for exactly $140, mail it in, and I'm good in both cars for another year.

Just think: if you'd bought a lifetime subscription for each radio 10 years ago, you'd be getting satellite radio essentially for free, and you'd never have to deal with billing or customer customer service again.

Pandora radio, and all the streaming services rock along with MP3....but I still live in an area with limited cell service when you go out of town. Satellite radio still works for me and I have no problem with billing as I know how there practices, but there dealings with customers are just as has been posted.

Guess I've been lucky with XM!

No hassle, works fine, less than $7.50 a month, the one time I DID have to call them they were easy to deal with.

The music aspect of SiriusXM is fantastic. Tons of genres and most are 100% commercial-free. I will never, ever go back to terestrial radio in any of my cars.

That said, I've had to deal with their customer support shenanigans as well. These days, I simply don't auto-renew and wait for them to give me a good renew deal every six months.

I am a happy XM user. I bought the lifetime for $400 when my free trial ranout and I never had to deal with XM again, no bills, nothing, just the business talk radio I can't get anywhere else.
