I had my oil changed the other day and they told me my pas back inner CV boat was leaking. Today I took the wheel off to look at the leak and noticed I had a broken part. It is a little round electronic part in front of the axle with a small arm that attaches to a ball on the lower control arm. What is this thing and what does it do. Several weeks ago I had the trans removed and rebuilt and I am wondering is they dropped the rear end without detaching that little arm and broke this part. The part got pulled into the CV boat and caused the leak. I am sure they will dispute this but what other reason would cause this part to break off a car with 20k on the ODO?

I'm not an expert, and it's hard to tell, but could that be the Suspension Position Sensor? I think GM part number 25348416 is it...
