Here in Colorado they are very slow. My Friend in Wisco was able to look on line to see if his selection was available on the spot then order it and get it in 2 weeks! Not Here. Everything is sloooow!
No vanity plate here either, as like to keep the letters/numbers scrambled up, un-memorible as possible. No idea what my plate says, and like it that way.
I don't know about "Wisco" but in Arizona we can search online to see if a personalized plate is available or not. You'd think Colorado would impliment this useful and simple capability (but maybe doing so would automate a few government MVD employees out of a job). Write your state motor vehicle department and your government representatives and ask that this search capability be instituted. You might make it happen.
Regardless of what your plate says, If you Blow by a cop your getting pulled over!
Well, maybe, but mostly sometimes try. Those 4500 lb 4.6L Crown Vics, take awhile getting up to speed, and usually long off the highway by then. Pretty law abiding here, but if I see a car making a highway loop around after me, I'm gone. Point being, why advertise.
In Wisconsin they have that same system of checking. Also you can order your plates immmediatly online!
Same in NY, I just have my two initials on a Veteran Plate. To me it looks good DV with the American Flag. Got pulled over once and the Cop thought the DV was for a disabled vet but I was truthful and he was nice enough to let me off with a slow it down warning.
As for Vanity plates in general seen them all and all is good whatever works for you.
