Except for the 2005 automatic tranny cars, ALL C6s are 6 speeds.

I was trying to tell you that my 2008 base coupe has the automatic transmission, but it is also a 6 speed. You seemed to insinuate in your original post that you were only interested in cars with manual transmissions.

My 08 gets about 15.5 to 16.0 around town, not exactly stop 'n go driving, but almost. However, on the interstate, using the cruise control most of the time, I get about 27 to 27.5 MPG at 75 MPH. My overall MPG is just a little under 22 MPG.

Understood. What Jim was trying to point out is that the automatic in the 2005 was not a 6 speed.

06 z06 gets ~20mpg on secondary highway with a bit of in town but not city driving (18 if I'm driving a bit more spirited) , 27-28 highway. my grand sport gets about the same so far but I only have 2k miles on it so it may loosen up.

(the camaro's old motor managed 9-10mpg city!)

City driving depends too much on conditions and will be all over the place.

I have a 2011 base coupe with A6 and 2.56 rear. The very best fuel mileage I've gotten is 34.2 MPG driving 180+ miles at speeds between 65 and 70 MPH on a cool day (no A/C) in moderate traffic on a flat interstate (Portland, OR to Redmond, WA). Have gotten over 30 MPG several other times cruising at speeds up to about 75 MPH.

A "zero toe" alignment and slightly lowering the front ride height got me 2-3 MPG on the freeway.

My Z gets around 21....if I am good....around town....
If I am really good on the highway......which I am not very often....I can get the 27-28....
.....but truly because of that growth of lead on my right foot..... I am lucky to get 23 on the highway......
then again , I didn't buy it for the gas mileage.......but then again, the 427 is truly a piece of work....what with that much horsepower and actually great gas mileage.....as 68 states......

Just took the Z from Atlanta GA to Beaufort SC to see my Marine son before his deployment. All interstate on the return trip with cruise set to 70 and the DIC read 30.5 when I got home.

2009 Z06 and I get 28-29 MPG on the highway. Don't really know the around town gas mileage as I don't drive it daily to burn enough gas to get a reading, before taking it on the highway.

My 2011 6 speed GS with LS3 got about 23-24 mpg highway.
My 2012 Centennial Z06 gets about 21-22 mpg highway. (But well worth the trade off.....)

In mixed driving I get about 27-28 mpg if I can keep my foot out of it for the most part.

I was pleased that on pure interstate driving, my base vert auto gets 29. Same with AC on or top down and AC off. About 21 in the city traffic.

2006 Z06 with ZR1 aero, MF103 CAI, and 345/30/19's on the rear...in AZ.
The car can get a steady cruise MPG on flat ground with no head or tail wind of 35 MPG, while still running just over 80 MPH.

My 200 mile trips between Tucson and Phoenix AZ.....going "up" in elevation to Tucson can net me averages in excess of 30 MPG.

Going "down" in elevation back to Phoenix can get me almost an MPG extra, at 31+ .

My DIC seems to be within .5 MPG from my calculated numbers when I do the miles divided by gallons pumped to full fuel.

Remarkable machine

I have an 08 manual LS3 with my best 27.4 hwy and around the mid teens in the city. I could probably do a little better on the hwy, but then I might as well drive a Prius.
