So I feel that was his shoe in, if you care to check a famous baseball player now owns that one.

Also if you remember when GM introduced the C6 they intro. the base model first then reeled the public in every year with up-grades.
That is all I will say at this time.
I usually do not believe rumors from members or dealers. However what the dealer says makes a lot of sense. The Corvette has a history that is pretty consistent. The HP most likely will increase to keep above the Camaro in the 1/4 and 0-60.

With all that being said the second year C7 is what I have my eyes set on..

As a former dealer what the OP is saying probably is a mixture of fact and conjecture... By now dealers are starting to get off the record info on the new car from people that actually know..

Info like, (manufactures rep or high up zone personal talking to a dealer) well don't quote me on this, but the new Vette will be around 500hp and for the first year only a Coupe and Conv will be released... ZO6 to follow probably in MY2...

What the dealers will start hearing is the about this and that info... Guys like Rick Hendrix have probably been briefed and may have already seen the final car.. But won't say a word to anyone as keeping it confidential is what he probably assured the factory guys... I ran Dodge dealership in the 80' and 90's and knew all the Viper specs WAY before most did... I was very friendly with certain factory guys...it's the way it is... I actually got to drive the original show car which was a body thrown on truck chassis with a truck V10 engine in it... They were only allowed to run for a couple of minutes at a time as the side pipes would burn through the plastic body work..

So my ride was certainly only in the parking lot...(it drove like sh*t by the way) but I have some very cool pics somewhere... The darn thing was put together with sheet metal screws for beggeebizzes sake...

So Is the OP correct, probably fairly close... Of course I have no personal knowledge of anything concerning the C7. But what the OP states certainly makes perfect sense.

Now if the car is released with 465HP did that mean the OP didn't have accurate info, no,must the old around 500HP was sent his way...
