You can see where it slipped past the support tabs, bend them in and remount,

I think of it as a "touch start", push even conveys to much pressure.

I put in a Carbon fiber dash. I had to remove that switch and reinstall into my new one. It just snaps into place. You must have pushed awfully hard for that to happen. I had to fight to R&R mine.

Yup. Had to reach in and put my incredible fingering abilities to use
but the button still worked deep inside the dash.
