Normally, I'm not a fan of putting oversize tires on factory wheels, but that rear tire does look funny and I agree - I'd go 335's next time too. I have been following these tire threads so that when the time comes, I'll know what brand I want. And based on my research here, I was going to go with the Michelin PS2 runflats.
Can anyone provide pics of Michelin PS2 runflats on a "skinny body" C6 (i.e. with 285 size rear) ?
I don't want that look. Do they make a Michelin PS2 runflat in a 295 width ?
Yup285/35/19 PS2ZP's on a 19 x 10 GCA forged 7 spoke.
I am running 1/4 spacers. With the original GY runflats the tire was right at the edge of the fender, the Michelin's are a lot rounder at the edge and look a bit smaller. But the ride, handling and noise are worth the minimal narrower look. Awesome tires!
My guess is the Michelin and Goodyear look so different because of the engineering and design not being the same between the two companies. You could probably see that with a side by side comparison of any size tire made by each company.
When I was looking on TR and DT if I recall correctly the Michelin AS is actually wider than the GY's (not sure and not trying to start argument)
Here are some pics of the Pilot Sport AS Plus on a 09 C6 w/Z51 package.
My comparisons always have some time between them, they aren't really back-to-back because of the time lag in switching the tires.
Any C6 handles very well, so the A/S won't turn it into a truck. For a DD or touring tire, I think they are quite satisfactory. But if you like to attack the twisties, you'll like the PS2's better.
Our member phillyeaglesfan had the A/S on his base coupe and didn't like them so much, so my opinion is not universal. But I think he lives in curvy country.
I had a 2008 C6 Z51, and I still could take curves faster than most other cars with the all seasons. BUT, I know I could do better with the PS2's.
The better predictability for all weather conditions was why I chose the AS tires for a daily driver.
Cold weather is one thing and rain another, the PS2 has phenomenal grip in rain/water situations, spring mountain had a demonstration one year with a Z06, Michelin and water...they work very well for a street tire in the wet
The stock Goodyear's on my old C5 were famous for hydroplaning in the rain.

Thanks for the pics. The look good. I can tell a lot about the front but not the back.
Do they look better on the rim than Marc V's 325? From what I can see they seem to. Really hope so. Right now I am going with the AS all so.
Thanks for all the info

Just for comparison, I found a photo of my Goodyear 325s (the wheel on the right is the rear).
Note how the sidewall is pretty much flat.
Now the photo again of my Michelin 325s on the same rim. WTF?
I've gone to the A/S and I really like them. I live in Nothern CA and it gets below 40* on a regular basis in the winter, plus I commute and sometime it rains, a lot. They're a 100% better than the GY's RF's that came stock. Much quieter, more grip and they're wearing very well after about 7,500 miles of spirited driving. I'd buy them again if given the choice. My friends PS2's wore too fast for my liking as well. GL.
Your mods says you have PS2s. Is that what you had before the AS?
Thanks Guys for all the excellent info. I think I will go with the Michelins PS2 runflats. I have 28,000 on the original Goodyears. Will I get this good of mileage out of the PS2's or can I expect less? I intend to continue my moderate driving style. Thanks

We don't have a lot of people wearing out their PS2's yet, so the data is a little thin.
My guess is that they will last longer than the Z51 Supercar tires that some of us had, but perhaps not as long as the base tires.
Of course, driving style and pavement surface can easily change your tire life by a factor of 3.

No way you'd get that mileage. I wouldn't count on more than 20K babying them all the time. But if that's the case, why the heck buy them in the first place? Buy the A/Ss and they'll last a lot longer, be quieter, and would allow you to safely drive in cold weather and mild winters. If you really like to push your car in the twisties, then you'd miss a summer tire like the PS2s, BUT used accordingly, you'd eat it up way sooner than 20K miles. Every tire is a compromise; decide what you want out of your tires first, then select the appropriate one. Good luck.

We went through 2 1/2 sets of Z51 Supercar tires on our 2006; getting about 20k miles from each set, and I replaced them at 2/32" tread or greater. The car was mostly a DD, but also did a moderate amount of autocross.
We have about 15k on our current PS2 runflats, and the tread gauge indicates they are about half way down toward 2/32", so I'm guessing at 25k-30k miles total life on them.
