I have a Z06 with the stock air breather but have a Vette-Air scoop installed to grab "cold" air from the grille. I wanted to do something similar to the BeeHive to block off hot air from the engine getting to the air breather when the car is not moving.
A fellow forum member who installed an Airaid intake did not want to use the 'wings' that came with his kit, so he sent then to me.
I didn't take a pic of my car but here is a pic of an Airaid installed so you can see the 'wings' that keep hot air from flowing over the top of the radiator shroud to the air breather. I had to fabricate the mounting so the 'wings' would fit the stock air breather, but it was an easy task.
The flexible rubber weatherstriping on top of the 'wings' slightly touch the hood liner.
Bad thing is that Airaid will not sell the 'wings' separately.
