Dont buy corsa

Problem solved, but not by Corsa!
After this post, I received a few PM's from other users here and on other forums that had/have an issue with Corsa. Funny, the one thing in common is that we all talked to the same person at Corsa. Its not nice to mention names so I wont. However, this person REFUSED to do any warranty work for the other people that had/have issues.
Just like the above poster, I, too, am exhausted with this thread!

What exactly is a demo muffler? Never heard of such a thing. Did they install it on a dozen cars to help owners decide whether they liked it or not and then take them off? Doubtful. Was it something that was displayed on a shelf? Was it installed on just 1 car for people to hear? Either way, these things aren't supposed to wear out.
It's an $1,800 muffler. Unless they can prove you crashed the car and caused the damage, they should stand behind the warranty unless there's more to this story.

I don't know if this is an attempt at humor or a perfect example of unbridled ignorance.
Demo units in all types of products represent one of two things:
1. A pre-production unit that is "representative" of the final product but has not been certified to meet the lifespan or long term durability of the final product.
2. A "scrap" unit that is also "representative" of the final product but has failed an end of line test and is known to have a minor defect that will decrease the lifespan and durability of the product.
ANYONE who has manufacturing experience of anything knows that there is always pre-production units and scrap (low quality) units that are created. Demo units are a way to get the maximum value out of these parts, however since they are not production certified units they WILL fail before a production unit.
It makes NO SENSE for a manufacturer to warranty a unit that they know will fail. This is why demo units are "not for resale"
It's a simple concept folks. In this case the fault lies with the dealership. If I was Corsa I'd go one step further and demand the return of the part, since I wouldn't want a non-production certified part out and about. This part has failed once, it more than likely will fail again.
Since the dealership is bankrupt, the OP is SOL. That's life, sometimes you get burned. These are the risks you take when buying a car with pre-existing modifications.

If you expected a warranty maybe you should have asked at the time of purchase/install or who you bought the car from. You can't expect a warranty on demo parts. I've had Corsa for years and never an issue!

So you asked if it was a demo when you bought yours? I usually go by the assumption that unless the seller tells me there is no warranty from the mfg, that there is in fact one.

I haven’t been here in a while and found my old thread.lots of crazy posts here. Thank you to all, good and bad for participating in the thread.
If anyone cares, the exhaust was on the car when I bought it. The original owner PAID corsuck for the exhaust at a discounted cost (per the original owner), shipped it to Bill Heard for installation and the car was put in a booth at SEMA. I don’t remember what booth now as it has been since 2005 and I am getting old.
The mufflers/pipes were rewelded many times to correct new cracks.
My feeling is that Corsuck could have done something to help out with the inferior product. It was paid for! All I needed was the cat back part and I would have worked with them had they worked with me.
But they made their decision to not support their own product. I simply can not do business with a company that will not support their own work. It’s not a good sign in my opinion. IN MY OPINION!!!
Long story short, I still have the car. Running all Borla exhaust and love every decibel of it.
Comment, don’t comment. Who knows, I may return here in another 6 years. Lol

I've had 6 different Corsa systems over years and always been picture perfect. I guess for this guy and 6 years later it's obvious some people just like to b1tch. You're going by hearsay so you really don't know what the heck actually happened.

Sure, that’s it. I just like to bitch. Every 6 years I need to bitch about something. Get it off my chest after 6 years.
HAAAAAA HAHAHAHAHA.
Too funny. Thanks for the laughs and entertainment. I’m outta here!!! Back to the real world.

You didn't buy anything from Corsa so what did you expect them to do for you.

The person that should have been bitching to Corsa should have been the original owner of the car that actually purchased the exhaust from Corsa and then had it installed by some dealership.
The OP (speed2436) is just a 3rd party player in all this and really never was in a position to do much about it ... that's just the cold hard facts

"In honor of jpee"
Well, in 6 years he still has not figured out how to READ and COMPREHEND the language. Warrantied to ORIGINAL OWNER which he is not. He is the SECOND owner. hahahahahaha
I wonder if Borla will have the same problem with him? Maybe I'll send Borla (the fellow whose name is the same as the company and comes on here sometimes) a heads up on this poster. You know, spread the word as the OP originally wanted everyone to do!
I, for one, am glad he's 'outta here!' Yay!
