amen brother There are a lot of angry people out there, and some with just cause. This country is headed in a very dangerous and self-defeating direction and it's not too late to turn the tide. It will be difficult because of the entitlement attitude being fostered by our 'leaders', and it's up to the parents. It sounds like your family is living the American Dream and you let Jasmine know there are a lot of people here pulling for her. Be true to yourself because that's where it all starts. Personal Responsibility. Just my opinion. amen

I like your rule. I never said a word to anybody before or after I got my Corvette. It spoke for itself once people got an eyeful.
I also like your daughter's willingness to speak her mind no matter what other think or say. I taught my daughter the same when she was in her early elementary school years. She's become a very independent-minded woman which has served her very well over the years.
I know what you mean too. I've heard the same thing from more than one person. And ironically, I paid less for my 3 year old vette than I did for our brand new Mazda SUV or would have paid for a Honda Pilot. And I don't see anybody marveling at how much money people with Honda Pilots are making....
I understand this "rule" though, I have never heard of it specifically as "the Corvette rule". I think the Corvette rule is to wave to other Corvette drivers. I have found that letting others "discover" the car negates most jealousy or hard feelings. I asked my fiance to not refer to the car as "the Corvette" to others as it seems a bit snobbish to some/most. I think a lot of Corvette owners are deeply passionate about their car and the experiences the car can create. Others may misinterpret this passion as snobbiness or boasting. I guess it's all about how you communicate.
I taught my daughter the value of hard work and imagination to think outside the box and be different. Today people would much rather buy a 12 year old Honda civic hatchback dump 90k of drug money and boast about beating corvettes Ferrari's lambos etc. People love the low hanging fruit and the current president presents these people with the don't worry we will take care of you mentality. I always told jasmin God loves speed and most religion is based in Europe where most supercars are made. I told God rewards those who move and get things done and doesn't help those who take from others. The Corvette rule is much like the Ferrari rule in that telling others of the happiness you achieved is a social no no. To my Corvette family who work so hard to achieve everything you ever dreamed me and my family hope all you get everything you ever wished for. You deserve it

LOL why don't they tax Nissan gtr owners or supra owners
Because people that do not know cars, which is most people, judge a cars value on how it looks and the corvette looks more expensive than a GTR. Also, the corvette has name recognition which many other cars do not including the GTR.

are you saying that owning a corvette or Ferrari is a reward from God? No the Bible preaches the opposite,....materialistic things mean absolutely nothing. social no- no? you honestly seem extremely strange. "hope you all get everything you ever dreamed for"....seriously? are you the fairly godmother? listen stop getting all weird on us and just drive your Corvette.
Can not believe this crap from grown men, it is a CAR, all this life lessons, hide my car people think I am rich, my daughter came home crying over corza exhaust, keep the faith, etc, etc.
seriously, doesnt make any sense. 8 year olds dont know what "tuners" are. kids LOVE corvettes and other sports cars. the only people that perfer a tuner over a vette are jealous 20-30 year olds that cant afford a corvette and all they can drive is a tuner. and this rule doesnt exist.
your right the rule doesnt exist because its a rule for me and my friends who own similar cars like ferraris. just go to ferrari chat and ask them about how they keep there cars secret even to there relatives
This is serious.Since I bought my first Corvette in 05. I've "lost touch" with a few friends and some relatives. In today's society if you make $10K more than someone they think your wealthy.

For all those who say the rule doesn't exist, I have a similar rule. I once got a request for proposal from a new client. I drove over to their shop in my Corvette because it was a nice day and I had just washed it. I noticed people looking at me funny but, hey, I'm new here and they don't know me. They will learn to love me soon enough. I got the job and many more from them. A year or so later they invited me to their annual Christmas party and after a few drinks the owner said that when I showed up in a Corvette that first day he immediately thought "Why am I wasting time on this guy who obviously will bid an arm and a leg because look what he drives". He said he almost canceled the appointment when he saw me pull into the parking lot.
Like it or not, the Corvette presents an image and first impression that a Ford Focus doesn't. Owning Corvettes we have a very different view of it than the general public. Sort of like what we think of people who drive a Leaf. Ask 100 people which is more expensive, a loaded Ford F-150 pickup or a base Corvette and I bet every one who doesn't own a Corvette gets it wrong and half the people who do.

I'm still not sure if this is a joke the OP is playing, or if he is serious. If the latter,
